Helicopters that come equipped with all those types of things are available, but not for $200. Then, having said or typed all of this, I challenge you or anyone else to find a better helicopter kit or ARF for $200
I TOTALLY agree with that. I've done price comparisons many, many times and the least expensive 30 size Heli out there was the Hawk Sport and is now the Hawk Pro.

Would I like all those upgrades at a price under $200? Well of course I would but I know I won't get them.

What I've done is each time I crash, I "buy a little bling" along with the pieces I need. If the head yoke is broken, I'll buy a metal one. Or, if it isn't I may buy the metal one anyway when I buy other parts. Similarly, I've purchased the 4mm upgrade and the blade grip bearing upgrade.

Besides, it isn't the $200 or $300 or $400 for the kit or ARF that is expensive, it is all the other equipment. Servos, Gyros, Tx, Rx, batteries etc.

I'd be interested in knowing what Century would charge for a "Hawk Super Sport". Put in the upgrades and see what the cost would be, package it and sell it separately. Then do the same for the Raven and Falcon. Nice as that may be, I'm sure most people would go for the lower cost unit AND, it may give the impression that you need the other stuff. Naw, leave it as it is.

Got Money? Send it to me, I'm a Heli Addict.

Don, Century did sell a Hawk SEv2 for $330, it was the heli I bought after my Raptor blew apart,,, the Hawk SEv2 had all the parts the Falcon SEv3 had but the Hawk's tail drive was a wire drive..

With a "Super Hawk" at $330, the Raven 50 is only $49 more. The only reason I wouldn't purchase the Raven is if I REALLY wanted a 30 size machine instead.

As more people get involved in the sport and advances are made, the trend seems to be to move to larger Nitro ships at the start (most of the beginner section now seems to recommend a 50 size and skip the 30).

So my vote is to keep the Hawk Pro at the price point it is at. If more can be added at that price point then so much the better. Also, keep the Falcon and Raven at their current price points but introduce "SE" versions of them with metal head yoke, and some other things. Oh yes and a Fiberglass canopy for the SE versions as well.

MobileRaptor,

I said what I did about upgradeing the head because that is what I do. I enjoy doing such things, and offten do WAY over and above what is needed. So indeed I would do that upgrade to the model if it were mine. Not that it ACTUALLY needs it. Not trying to attack you, and wasn't with my first post. Just stateing my view just like you. No harm intended.

Here is a view of what I mean. I did this to my Raptor 90. There was no "SE" or "PRO" when I bought it. So I made one myself. And man was it fun.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

Not a problem in the world Buzzin, we've agreed on a lot more than we've dis-areed. By the way, check our member dates, yours, 11-11-2001 mine 11-20-2001 you've been on this board 9 days longer than I have. I guess we both remember when RR was a brand new site.

I bet you even remember Seneca, don't you
