Indoor heli recommendation please…
Hi all –

I am looking to purchase another heli to add to the fleet. I have an XRB which I truly love but I want something that is a bit more challenging / maneuverable but still flyable indoors. I thought perhaps a Piccolo would do the trick but dont know anything about them. I do have a JR 9303 radio that I can use with whatever I end up buying. I would prefer a very simple or RTF solution. $ is not a major decision factor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Hummingbird v3 fp which is fun for an indoor flyer. I put the jet ranger fuse on it and it looks really great... I also have a blade cp which I'm flying indoors which is more manuverable and responsive to pitch changes and throttle. Either one is a good indoor bird as they are both 19 1/2" long...
One other choice would be the Honeybee cp 2 It comes with alot of the things (Lipos, bell hiller head ) you will need to buy for the Blade cp to be a strong 3D bird...and it's cheaper than the blade cp
Tom..... No "D" flying....

The best flying indor micro is the Hirobo lama xrb series like you have. Only drawback is it is not a cp machine. Ready to fly and has the best customer support in the buisness if you should ever need it.Jon Jennings

While the t-rex is a great heli( probably the best mini one out). I would not recomment it for an indoor heli. Most are running 2200-3000 rpm headspeed. Let that his the sofa and it will do some serious damage. Jon Jennings

Hirobo lama xrb is a good indoor helicopter. But after about 10 times of fly, there seems a problem in the radio system. I can not use the transmitter to control the helicoper anymore, I had fully charged the battery and the batteries in the transmitter is brand new. Any idea why it is not working? I am still working on this - the helicopter is very expensive (I paid about US$300 for it, so I do not want to throw it away - not a rich person)

The Hirobo Lama fly very stable - agreed with this.

If you are saying you flew for 10 minutes, then it is probably time to charge you heli battery again.

Hi All,

Living in New Hampshire means having a decent indoor heli I really like my Hummingbird Elite FP and my FP V2. The V2 and V3 are really durable, the elite is a slightly more fragile.

Check out my gallery for pix and a video of my fp flying in a constrained space.

Cheers,
Leslie

>> Sorry, I meant after 10 times of fly. Not 10 minutes. My problem is that when I plug in the battery, the helicopter does not response - I have check the helicopter - there is not burning smell - so I guess the mainboard is ok (I do not have any crash). Hope someone can help me, as the helicopter is so expensive

If there is no response, it could be your battery is dead or is bad. If you let a lipo run its charge down too far it can't recover and may be trash.

Are you getting any servo movement? Is the light on the heli lighting up once the batt is plugged in? If you answered yes to those questions then it could be the motor. Check all the connections and see.

if you still want to fly in your house, stick with the lama. if you have good access to a gym or something, maybe go with a hummingbird 3d pro or the blade cp. getting outdoors will be the best decision you can make though, and since you dont seem to have any interest in nitro, the mx400 pro is a great electric that can go outdoors (as well as large indoor areas).

oh, and the reason the xrb is freaking out after 10 minutes is the motors are over heating, causing it to lose rudder control.Aero-Model/Hacker Brushless/Mikado 2007
