problems when removing c-spec from freya?
I had to remove my c-spec from my freya the other day. Everything was disconnected and the engine would not drop out of the heli, I was pulling and doing everything I could to try to get the engine out. What is happening is the clutch shaft must be slightly mushroomed at the tip above the bearings. The engine & shaft will move about a .5 an inch but when the end of the shaft reaches the bearings it gets stuck. I finally took a punch a tapped on the end of the shaft and then the engine came out. Is this normal? Also the bottom bearing will move in & out of its hole is that normal? Should I re-use the clutch shaft also? Thanks Joe.

fsck, fscking fsck i hate that. everytime that happens to me, anger builds up VERY fast and usually i take something with a hammer to it and make it come out.

that would be my guess as to your problem, take a dremel or a file and grind away a little bit right at the end and the edge, clean it really good as well as the ID of the bearing and use some triflow or similar to help it going in and later coming out.

for me its weird normally when i do them when theyre both brand new it goes in fine, then some time later when i need to remove it, magically the problem appears.

whew ok glad to hear that, kind of. Is the bearing supposed to move? Taking a dremal to the clutch shaft? You sure thats ok. Isnt this the piece that is supposed to be dial idicated?

hehe well i dont mean grind it into an arrowhead or anything i think you can take enough of it off to be effective without killing your runout.

then again besides convienence, i really dont think leaving the friction of the shaft and the bearing on install/removal will hurt anything either. it just pisses ME off to no end
