Actually flying the calliber 5
I put 5 tanks through the new Caliber today and don't have alot to report. It flew well, tracked like an arrow (even with the paddle weights removed)

Tic-tocs and funnels were uneventful as well as inverted flight. That suprised me a bit 'cause my caliber is very nose heavy with a 3300 ni-mh pack but for some reason, I didn't see a trim change when flipping inverted

On the 5th flight, I finally leaned the new hyper enough to get a respectable HS of 1950 and is really started to sing on the MP2.

Even though I was running about 1700 most of the day, the controls were still respectably powerful and at 1950, they were fun...

I didn't do alot of backwards flight because the HS was rather low for most of the day as I was breaking in the Hyper, but a few high speed backwards passes late in the day didn't blow out the tail (even with that rather large sail, vertical fin, on back)

So who knows where to get a 3-D vert fin?

Oh and the Z-bend on the rudder still just annoys me, but doesn't have any slop in it yet

Jeff,
How much flight time are you getting, per tank?
Just wondering.
With a 50 converted 30, I was getting maybe 7.5 minutes.
And that was with a KSJ 3 oz header tank.

Hi,

Please can you let me know what your pitch setup is also what fuel you were running in the hyper to run it in and what gyro you are running. Sounds like it is copeing with the high speed backward well.
Thanks for this info.

Any chance there will be some pics? I'd really like to see it auto or at least here how well it performs in that area.

Thanks
Regards Dazza,;

Flight times aren't real accurate while breaking in a new engine.

The pitch is set up at 10/-10 and I did a couple of autos and the machine performed just fine, I think the hang time on the Rap 50 is a little better, but I think the TT blades are alot heavier than the Kyosho blades I got with the kit so that is probabaly the difference.

The gyro is a 500T with a 9254 servo.
