Using Sanwa RX8129 Receiver with RD6000 Radio Set
Can anyone please help.
I have purchased a Raptor 30 Heli which came with a Sanwa RD6000 radio and a RX611 6 channel receiver. When I visited the club I intend to join I was told that I need a dual conversion receiver to fly.
I baught a Sanwa RX8129 Dual conversion 8 channel PCM receiver but it does not work with the transmitter. When switching the idle ups the set does operate the correct servos but with a time delay which is unsuitable for flying.
When in PPM mode on the RX611 receiver all is well.

Any suggestions please. Do I swap the receiver or just buy a whole new Futaba Set.

Unless the RX6116 is an old one from before the "narrow band" requirements, I don't see any problem with single conversion. Some of the current JR units are single conversion. Stay away from the ends of the band because the IF is 455KHz. You will find that the JR single conversions are not available with some of the lower channels because of this.

The Sanwa RX-811 is the successor to the RX-611 as it is a SC FM RX. All of the SC Sanwa units utilise a silver face plate, while the gold label usually denotes a DC set. The RD6K Super has the capability to handle two PCM modulation schemes. One scheme is for the new 1024 200us encoding while the 512 scheme is designed for one RX only and it is now discontinued. The older 512 unit was the forerunner to the current 1024 200us version and was almost as fast to respond as the 200us 1024 version.

With that said, do you have an RD 6K Super or just a plain vanilla RD 6K?

What Type of Sanwa RD6000
Thanks TMoore,
The set I have is an original RD6000 set which has a silver front with blue writing. I have today posted the RX8129 receiver back to the model shop. They will look for a suitable alternative.
Most people at the club however use Futaba or JR radio and I have also used Futaba in the past.
I think I will swap the Sanwa receiver for a Futaba FF7 complete set and sell the old Sanwa on ebay.
Do you think it is worthwile going PCM or just stay PPM for the moment.
Mark.
