3D-X400 Question
I had a Shogun version 1 and it flew well, never even had much trouble with the tail. I sold it for a TREX and flew that for a while before selling it also. I couldn't do much flying this summer due to a lot of over time hours at work, but now it’s time for another micro. I was looking at the 3D-X400 from Heli Direct. I’ve been out of the loop with all the hours I have been working, Is this a Shogun hybrid? I'm not familiar with the X-400 series. Here is a link to the Micro I'm interested in, anyone know any pro's or con's on this setup. http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...products_id=790

Thanks
Rick

Yes it is a Shogun clone and the one you linked has ALL the upgrades plus it's the belt drive......

Now you can get the plain model with shaft drive for about $99 so the your paying $200 for the belt drive and CNC parts.

I had the plain V1 3DX-400 and it flew pretty good, but I'm only new at the hobby of heli's. I kept busting tail drive gears every time it would touch the ground. I now have a Hobby Lobby revo with belt drive and it's much more durable, but I would not hesitate to buy another 3Dx-400...and this time go for the belt drive.

Thanks for the reply, what is the best servos to use in the 3D-X400?I had 56's in my T-REX and a 50 on the tail. Will the 3dX accept a 56 or it there better choices?

Thanks...

The 56's should be OK....I stacked my servos on top of each other and had the arms out to the sides..on my Revo

I used GWS BB naros and on the Zoom I used wood rails to raise the servo body out of the battery compartment.
