Himax (MPI) Motors Suck
I highly recommend avoiding Himax (MPI) motors. I had a 2815 that right out of the box, blew a CC Phoenix 25. After replacing the ESC with another CC Phoenix 25, it ran for a portion of one flight and blew that one. The ESC was then replaced with a Quark 35 which blew before the heli left the ground (just like the first CC).

All three of the ESC's were replaced at no charge, not even shipping. MPI, however, will only offer a new motor at a 35% discount. Their product was the cause of the problem but they won't back it up. MY conclusion is their customer service ethic needs an upgrade.

And for you techies out there yes, before the motor was sent off to MPI, impedance measurements were made between phases and there was a detectible difference. This was clearly a motor problem, not ESC or potential "installation" issues.

I expect the US distributor to be more concerned about his customers, his product and the future of his business.
