Scripting fixed picture backround in RR V2
I had a picture in my gallery that was fixed in the backround and would be visible behind my pictures. Now with the new RR v2 the picture can no longer be seen behind my picutres and appears like this backround(plain white) with my picture on the sides. I talked the Mark and he told me
"rrV2 change. You will need to script in a table background as an option. The background image will only work between titles."
So I looked at his scripting example and it looks like this:

<table style="background-image:url(/img/mp2.gif)" width=710><tr><td>

</td></tr></table> (this part goes on the boottom of the script)

But it does not have a fixed picture, it is like tiled vertically and in my case doesn't work at all. I am probably not scripting it right. I don't know where to insert my image into the <....> If anyone can figure out how to script the picture as fixed in the backround than please PM or post the answer in this post. Any scripting pro's please help me out

I've just been looking into it on mine and as far as I can see, you won't be able to have a full picutre show through like it did before.

You need to change /img/mp2.gif to your picture, in my case it was background.jpg. so the line looks like <table style="background-image:url(background.jp)" width=710><tr><td>

But like you said though, it only fills a single row.

I'm, still experimenting

Drunk monk I tried what you said and put my backround image into the table script and it just doesn't work. I can get the sample backround to show up in my gallery but not my pic. I will keep trying to see if I can get something to show up but try seeing if Mark can figure this one out.

Sorry but you will not be able to display a background image behind RR generated click to display thumbnails (html tables). This is a structural issue and we cannot turn back.

There is one option and that would be a background color (not image). I would have to do some extensive coding to incorporate a user defined background color [tag].

Drunk Monk's gallery displays the best you can do with an image background that I know of. The new rrV2 table background color requirements are what's interfering. I am all ears if someone can suggest a workaround.Mark Ryder

I have just been thinking what is different about the RRv2 that made the backround not work any more? I know that the script is a little different but why does it affect the backround picture

Without seeing the scripting it's impossible to say how to change it but it seems that everything between the title tags is a complete table so a picture will only be displayed between them, and the white background of the pictures, like you said is now solid do the picture is covered. I know you said you'd made the global table background colour white but I'm sure you can specify on each individual table whether it's solid or transparant, it's just that if you don't use any tags it assumes it's solid.

What I was thinking is that if you made the picture cells transparent then at least we could have a picture or texture that would fill the background between the title tags. Would liven the page up a bit and we could have a different background between each title tags

I wonder if that made sense?

If you look at the xfx section in my gallery you'll see what I mean.

Why can't you just change the backround color back to clear? I am not a scripting expert but how hard is it to change?

I found someone who managed to put a picture in the backround that looked good. It was not fixed but it was displayed in and out of the table. I am so mad at my self because I didn't bookmark his page. They used HTML code generator, ones that people use for Myspace, and had a big long complicated script that wouldn't work with my picture.
