New price for used stuff
Once you've bought something
it is no longer new and questionable
whether you will have warranty available to
new buyer.
So with that in mind, when you list
something on here, don't be surprised if
you don't sell it for what you paid.
It's obvious that some people don't understand this,
based on the times the same damn item gets bumped.

I agree!

New in package might get you 80%...
Almost new, used once, maybe 70%...
Used, but works...maybe 50%...

Just like a car...drive it off the lot and you've already lost money!!

I'm just happy to find someone who will put the stuff to good use!

There is one definite exception to this philosophy... Some items quickly become difficult to acquire due to high demand and people are more than willing to pay new price if not more on a private sale of such an item.

For example... Just after each batch of YS91s dries up at "real vendors", just after the first batch of the TP1010 charger, Revolution whip antennas during the drought last year... There are plenty more.

You also have to factor in shipping, especially when one only needs one cheap little part. I am willing to pay close to retail on a NIP part/component, if I have to, if it also includes shipping. If I were to buy a $6 part at a e-tailer I would also have to spend $6 on shipping.

Lotsa factors to consider...

2 sides to everything
That is true, but quite a few try to lowball a seller and try and beat a deal out of a fair situation. Alot of people on here do the lowball thing to the point that sellers start high just to get where they want to be. That is most likely what is going on. As RR says, if you don't like the price, don't answer the classified. There are no listing fees, so what is the gripe?
Funny how a price here goes to Ebay and seems to get it there...

People love to toss this "theory" out there a lot but I've yet to see it in practice.

I'd love to buy up the almost new helis for 70% of new!!! Where are they?

They are on RR all the time, you just have to look every minute. There was a HB 3D Pro retail $139. NIB sold for $75 shipped in 20 minutes after it was posted

Keep on searching, you will get one some day .

I sold many parts here on RR. 50% for used and 70% NIB.

That's funny
That's funny when a seller wants the most for HIS item and the buyer wants to pay the least for it. Supply and Demand really dictates prices more than some percentage theory. If it is hot and in demand, it will go for top dollar. Try bargain-buying a Gy401 and complain about 90 dollars...before you get a reply it is already sold to the next buyer. See a T-rex Se airframe only for 325 and it is gone faster than you can click refresh. It really isn't a "new price", but rather more of a "demand" price.

It's a free market.

Buy low, sell high.

I'll be the first to admit it. However, I do try and do research before pricing my items whenever possible.

There are low-ballers out there and there are the folks that do what the originator of this thread stated too . . . all you have to do as a seller is ignore the low-ballers and as a buyer just walk away from the overpriced stuff. In the middle is where all of the action is!

Condition is another factor. The people who get the used helis at 50% of new are probably the same ones you'll see starting a "hey he screwed me" thread!!

Was mostly referring to the bumps.
A bump or two, no big deal.
10 TTT bumps is not cool.

RCGroups.com has a good rule where you can only bump for the sake of bumping 2 x. More than that, you either have to offer more / lower your price, or get a warning from them. I think Runryder should implement that rule too.**If you ain't crashing, you ain't flying hard enough**

Only because this is at the top right now I will post. This was entertaining and cute the first 30 times I've seen it while actually looking for items on RR to PURCHASE. Joe has a very valid point about new/used items but must people drive these types of posts in the classified section... What are you selling Joe?It wasn't me... it was mechanical failure...

What are you selling Joe?
Actually have been thinking about establishing
a web presence to sell something rc related.

As far as the original thread I started,
I guess this post will be another shameless
bump TTT to the top.

Sorry for starting it in the classified thread.
