Problems with the Blade
Hi ,
I have tried everything to fix this problem. I replaced the 4 and 1 , the crystals, the motors, and the battery. Nothing worked.
the servors work find but the motors won't start. the motors run find with power to them but the 4 and 1 won't armup even when the light is green. Turned the subtrim all the way down and nothing works.
Could I have a bad 4 and 1 right out of the box? And who is going to GIVE me a new one? If anybody has any ideas I would be

tommyaz,

Are you sure you have the "idleup" switch set to the rear position (the switch on the top right)? It seems 2 bad 4in1's is unlikely.
Are you using a stock tx? If so are the switches set as follows:
AL down
ELE up
THR down
Rud up

Just looking for possibilities....

Maybe you could try someone else's tx to check?

Could also be the wire lead from the motors got reversed when you changed things and the motor is reading full throttle when set at idle, so the 4 in 1 won't arm. I did this once when I changes some of the electronics around.....
Recheck your wiring again..
Tom..... No "D" flying....

Blade problems
I have completely rebuilt my Blade. New main frame(all metal, motor(upgrade package)lipo 3 cell, etc. Ajusted all the linkages and it is steady and ready to go. I set the 5 deg pitch but can't get the thing off the ground!! I don't have a rpm tester so I can't tell how fast it's going. DID I MISS SOMETHING???? Any Idea's out there. By the way, you guy's helped me out the last time. I did have some wires wrong. Talk to you later:)

tommy,

Since you made so many changes at once you almost have to look at this as another experiment (how much does that thing weigh now?- just kidding!). When I have made a lot of changes at the same time and it won't "rise" I tyoically start adjusting the rotor links by 1/2 or 1 turn at a time until it does fly (increase angle by twisting ccw of course) or the rotor sounds too slow (in that case baack off). The angle of the blades will look different if you went to symetrical vs. asymetrical during the change- you probably need more. That's the only way I know to try ....

You didn't say where you set it at 5* pitch,,, but you should have 10*+ at full throttle in ideal up is on ... Or off for that matter.
Also check tracking...

5 degrees of pitch is where a nitro gets light or hops up to hover, certainly thats not enough to fly well, I think.

What it the top/bottom pitch for a blade CP anyway, is it like a 60 nitro + - 9 or so?

Simmer,

The manual says +10 and -10 for Idleup and 0 to +10 for normal.

hehe my bad, guess I should go thur the manual again.

I have only taken it up a couple times, have not really gottewn the feel yet, (+8 degress today looks like Friday will hit 50, Ill test my new battery and motor then. I havenet really looked into my setup at all. Guess I am trusting its srt up enought to at least fly, which it seems to be capable of. I was able to effect the balace point last night with this new 900 battery, had to readjust the trim more forward now (where it should be) I saw someone talking a bout a little nose down is fine, well a very lettle maybe but I think it ought to be very close to level for the best performance, (IMPO)

Went to the store
Buying more parts for the other "FLYING LADIES". Anyway . the guy in the shop said that that the new battery that I had to replace will give me the extra power that I need. I replaced the motor and used the up grade one that needs a 11.1 li-po. After burning the NEW (about 2min flying time) in the crash I tried to use the stock battery at 9.6. I have not tried it yet (gotta charge it) but well try in a while and keep you guys informed. I have 4 copter's and can't fly any of them. Thanks for Calling Back
Talk to you again Tommy AZ
