Camera mount gimbal kits.
I am pleased to announce that Spartan RC will soon introduce a range of camera mount gimbals kits with 2 and 3 axis capability. These are as easy to put together as any 30 size heli, and they will come with ball bearings and feedback pots an all axes enabling smooth electronic stabilisation using our VisionLock and upcoming “VisionLock Pro” and “VisionLock INS”.

The first mount to reach the market will be the two axes “Carbon 2XA”. I have just received the milled carbon parts for the first batch of gimbals and I am very excited to share the photos with you. Generally, the 2XA is a slightly enlarged version of my well proven Raptor 60 camera mount. The larger size allows the use of standard size servos and most importantly enabled the use a much greater range of video cameras. The Carbon 3XA with roll capability will follow.

More details will soon be posted on our website:

Hi Angelos,
They look very nice.
Are these mounts for a specific heli or universal mount?
Are they going to be a front mount like your pictures or are you going to offer a bottom mount that mounts to the skids?
Also do you have AP 2000I in stock (in the US)?
Are you close to release on the inertial sensors yet?
Sorry for all the questions but I’ve called (no answer) and sent email to your US distributor but never got a reply.
I’m interested in getting a AP 200I with the sensors.
Thanks for any answers.

Incredible quality. Are these adaptable to removable under-skid mounts? How long for a 3-Axis 60 version?

Aschuck,
Initially we will only supply the gimbal and a bottom mount option will soon follow. Although I personally prefer front mounts, it appears that most people like the detachable under-skid mounting.

No stock of the AP-2000i at the moment, but we have lots of units in production. They should be ready near mid-Feb. Inertial sensor to follow around May.

DANNO,
I had parcels derived to US in as little as 4-5 days. But delivery time is not guaranteed and it has taken over two weeks on rare occasions. Considering the heavy Christmas post and New Year bank holiday this is probably not an unusual delay. I will get in touch with Royal Mail and contact you outside the forum with anything I find out. The Royal Mail website still shows that it is in transit.

Altimat,
Yes, the gimbal could be fitted in an under-skid mount.

Wedge, R Hudson,
Unfortunately carbon isn’t cheap so it will cost a bit more than the equivalent plastic mount. We should have the exact price in the next few days.

I got the same message... but no sign of anything here in Albuquerque either....

They are probably hung up in Customs, being sniffed at by bloodshot beagles... or some such folly...

Hey Ang,
Do you have a 3-axis front mount designed?
If so, what is the price point on that?
