To buy or not to buy
I have been debating buying one of these. How are they at inverted flight and loops and rolls? What upgrades should be purchased and does anyone have on for sale? Thanks

I would buy the bcp as it is a lot of fun right out of the box.. Make sure the little bird is setup correctly and your good to go. You don't need to upgrade until you get in to 3D stuff...or even very fast forward flight, rolls, flips etc....Tom..... No "D" flying....

If I was you, I would get the E-Sky Honeybee CP2. It has the Bell-Hiller head and the entire setup is cheaper. I have the Blade and have seen a stock honeybee CP2 fly. The honeybee will fly circles around the Blade all day long.

I did not say that I disliked the Blade. I just gave the man an honest answer. I am in it for the fun of it, and I would hate to steer somone in the wrong direction, and NO I do not own any E-Sky stock.

I do fly now so I do want to do loops and rolls. Is that possible with this?

If you already fly the Honeybee would be a better choice. It comes stock with a bell-hiller head and symmetrical blades. It also comes with a lipo pack and charger instead of a nimh pack. What more can ya want for $30 less. I am not putting down the Blade, but the Honeybee out of the box is better for 3D flight.

I got the Honeybee as my first heli for Christmas, and I just did my first pirouettes today. It has been great to learn on, very stable and responsive, I can fly it in my 8x10 room. I upgraded it to the DD tail and it spins around really really fast when ya want it to, about 3 or 4 rotations per second!

If you bought a blade you would have to buy the aerobatic upgrade kit, which includes the bell-hiller upgrade and symmetrical blades.

Your choice

Jon

Here is a site I whipped up as a comparison between the CP and CP2.

http://www.galactec.com/neolith/con...hp?code=cpvscp2

I agree with the others. Unless there is an overriding concern (like local parts supplies), the HB CP2 is the bird to get.

Just for the record, the aerobatic kit for the Blade does not including the Hiller upgrade. It is sold separately, although it's not available yet.

The AEK comes with symetrical blades, heatsinks and an identical motor with a 9T pinion. Recommended for use with 3S lipos.

Also the Blade CP manual is allot better than the Honeybee
which at best is written in "changlish" and there's something
to be said for a manual that is actually informative and
helpful!

Heh...it's a pretty long stretch to go from thinking about a Blade CP to dropping a wad of cash on a T-Rex.

After doing the some research it looks like the Trex is more capable for 3d type flying and that is what I was looking for. Thanks

Anderman, Did you get the t-rex yet? If so what was
your impression of your first flights with it? And
how much did the set up cost?

I am still setting it up but so far I have about $450 in it. I bought it here at the hobbie store so I did pay tax. I am going to reuse a receiver I already have and I still need to buy a battery. About $70 more for the battery.

Heh..._A_ battery. I've discovered that lipos are like Jays Potato chips. Can't have just one. I've got two for my Blade and I'm wanting to pick up at least one, if not two more.
