Hey Larry,
I ordered them from Eberhard Hof at Helioldie. I was going to check and see how much it would run to xerox off a set of each in case anyone was interested. I also placed an ad to see if I could scare up a Cheyenne fuselage. I have a feeling that the plugs for the Cheyenne are sitting in Dieter's basemant. How would like to turn those up?

Rumor had it a long time ago that Min Air had a slew of Cheyenne's and SX 81 kits in inventory. Bear in mind that this rumor was back when Walt had just done the X-Cell, late 80's early 90's. I have no idea if it was true or not but the rumor was out there amongst us.

Hey Terry,
Is there any way to find out one way or the other? Does anyone know anybody at Min Air well enough to ask? Just a thought.

I would just send an email to Tim and ask them if they might know where there may be any of the old Schluter kits.

There were tons of Schluter kits sold in the late 70's, 80's and 90's. Literally tons of machines are out there in garages, attics and basements in built and unbuilt condition. I can fabricate a lot of the metal parts as can others. When I visited Robbe in Grebenhain Germany back in 1993 I can tell you that they had Superior main gears, Schluter Superior, Heli Star, Heli Baby, Heli Boy and Mini Boy canopies, fan shrouds and tons more stuff in racks stacked about 15 feet in the air. If Robbe were inclined to make spares available they probably had the original blueprints still on file to make a lot of the OEM parts.

The vac formed plastic is the hardest to do but if you have an original plastic part, it is relatively easy to pull a mold from the OEM part. This is what Yale did back in the mid to late 80's when they were doing all of their plastic stuff.

Do you have a contact e-mail for Tim? I'll e-mail him and ask. I can't imagine there not being Schluter helicopters everywhere. Like to stated there were many thousands of these kits produced and probably two to three times or more of that amount in spare parts if they were up to speed manufacturing wise.

Thanks
Randall

I've scanned the manuals for my Cheyenne. I've put them in a zip file that is 56 Mbytes. Does anyone know how I can make this available online somewhere?

Playing Catch-up
Daggonnit...

I thought this thread had died because of ME! Turns out somehow I was unsubscribed. At least I didn't miss too much

SX81 kits & Miniature:
The SX81 that I have was one of those surplus Min-Air kits. I bought it in 1998 or so. Plain white box for the mechanics and a seperate box for the fuse. Plans were most likely copies and the instruction manual was without a doubt a photocopy. I think there's one part missing from the set - fuel tank mounting strap. Joe Lawrence in FLA said he was a part of the sorting of the parts to make the kits and that there were around 100+ sorted. I don't think there are any more to be had. Anyone know "golojo"'s RR name?

Sharing the Cheyenne file:
If you download Skype http://www.skype.com/products/skype...ownloading.html and install it (for Win2K Pro or later Op. sys), you can connect directly with any other Skype member and there's no limit on the size of the file to transfer. Works great and so far it's been free. My Skype member name is available to anyone interested. Allows for free PC to PC 'phone' calls too but you better be on a broadband connection for good audio quality.

Larry...
PM me if you feel like testing the system after the install. I still have your phone number and can call direct if you need tech help. I'll be up all night...

To anyone else interested in staying in direct contact - Skype knows no continental boundries. It works great for me. Let's share those plans the easy way.

My source at MA ..said they are all gone.. but said it with no authority
Any how heli_headcase and I have been playing around with this skype program and it works great ,,you not only can transfer very large files ,,but you can talk to each other as if you were on a phone line.
So tean download the free program of Skype and it will allow you to dial anyone that has skype and drag the file into the open skype that is dial and connected to the person and it will send them a download permission request and they can accept the download and put it where they want it. We did a 98 mb and it took a little while but went over fine.
The program is free for this part of it ,,but looks like it needs to be purchased ,,but that is just for some other type programs that come with it.

Like Larry said...
If we're going to get deeply involved in a community project like this Cheyenne deal, communication and sharing of resources will have to be high on the list and easy to do. Skype lets the big files move swiftly (unless you're talking through Skype at the same time) and we can talk from PC to PC very clearly. Broadband connections are pretty much a 'must-have' in this case. The only services through Skype that cost money are the calling to a regular, non-PC phone (called "Skype-out" ) and using Skype's voice mail. Conference calls are part of the free service.

No, I don't own stock in Skype, just think it's a good tool for fast and inexpensive communication. Just be sure your Windows operating system is 2000 or XP. If you still use 98SE I can tell you where to find an older version of Skype that will work on your system. Just don't upgrade Skype when the window pops up letting you know a new version is available.

Anyway...Larry, when you have time, I'd like to discuss some things in the videos. VERY interesting and impressive too!

I'll have a look into the skype thing. Things are a bit slow here cause I'm snowed under with the boring work thing. Good news is that the copying of the fuz will be under way soon. I got a new air control system for the retracts and they're now working fine.
