Got the video posted on my gallery at ScaleRChelis.com. It's a 20MB file and it can be downloaded here:

http://www.scalerchelis.com/g2/main..._kero_start.wmv

At the start of this thread I asked if this was a worthwhile upgrade. I can say now that, yes, in fact it is.

Revised pump and filter installation
Just revised the installation for the kero-start, as the kero-start gets fuel first and then turbine takes over it seems to be feasable that only one filter is required, so have put pump and filter between the side frames the " T " at the top feeds both the cut off valves which are mounted one on each side

Does not work for you
Barry what bit does not work for you, this is for JetCat kero-start, what have you got? If different what are the differences, We already have JetCat kero-start on a JetCat PHT3 and Chopper Jockey is using an Orbit on his Wren

ruptured gas line
My wren powered chopper had a gas line rupture. I had it zipped tied to the frame close to the gearbox. The gearbox heated up the frame softening the line and POP! This caused the line itself to rupture. No light show as I am flying a pod and boom.

Wow, sorry to hear about your gas line rupture. Glad everything was okay!

I ran a few more tests today for no other reason than I just love to hear a turbine running and I couldn't resist. In a little less than a months time I now have eighteen starts with the JC kero-starter system and each one has been flawless. Only time will tell the true long term performance of the system but I have the utmost confidence that this thing will continue working perfectly as it has been. The folks at JetCat did a great job.

If anyone is in need of any starting gas components, including a BVM gas trigger valve for Powermax cans, spare tubing, filters, a shut-off valve, some Powermax cans and a few other items, I'm selling it all.

Hi Peter,

The filter looks neat between the frames on your pictures above but I'm just wondering how easy it is to get at to clean the strainer.

Filter access
Hi Mick, Not that easy, but if you look carefully I have put the filter between 2 Festo fittings, to aid removal, The biggest thing I have found with all my turbines is to make sure that fuel is filtered before fueling, some of us use a water trap in the filtering system,
In other post I have written, with the JetCat system it is possible to monitor pump voltage, if this does not rise then I don't worry about a clogged filter,
