Recently did a pair of bevel pinion's replacement. Not bottoming, full face contact, pretty tight in the adendum. Since these little sucker's have no pitch circle, and I can't get my feeler's in their to set any back lash, can you be a bit to tight prior to run in? I hate to load the main gear, just to burnish off the oxide. Can definitley feel a bit of radial as a rotate thru about 4 teeth. If I set just right, in the new condition I know it will be too loose after they take a set and roll in. I really hate to reset every thing a second time if I can get around a proceedure.
Any broken drive lines with a dog bone attatched available? so I can seat this in advanced prior to 1st run up. Or even better - How a bout a good one and I'll make a tool for both of us ! You'll get one for free !
