1/4 throttle probably is an exaggeration on my part but the original clearance was allowing too fast an idle to engage.
I E-mailed Jeff MRC, and he said the replacement liner would not require any reworking, however, I trial fitted the clutch into the bell before adhering the new liner and it was just the same clearance as the original liner. I ran into this same situation with an older Eagle a few years ago and had a company at the time called Tech Specialties refit and rework a new liner for me. This clutch is still alive and working perfectly and can only be attributed to the fact that the engagement throttle setting is low enough that there is minimal scuffing etc when engagement occurs.
The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!
