I've been flying my Blade for a couple months now with no issues *knock on wood* and today I go to plug her in and the 4n1 just blinks red and green, over and over again. Trim and collective are all the way down....Sometimes I'll plug it in and it blink for a second then just turn off and not blink at all. I've tried inside the garage and inside the house with the same results. Batteries fully charged and still nothing!! I did notice that the batteries will twitch right once I plug the battery in but then it goes into blinking mode???????????? It's NEVER did this before

You've probably already checked this, but make sure your idle up switch is in the down position. it won't arm if it is engaged.

What's annoying is not knowing what's wrong with it. Would be cool if there was a code that blinked to determine what was wrong?? Guess I'll call horizon tomorrow and see what they say

I just got mine and that happened to me. I just pulled out both of the crystals and charged my battery and plugged it back in and it was fine.
It got me pretty pissed of at first cuz i thought it was messed up from teh factory. Good Luck
This might help

Well, went home and checked the crystals (suggested by HorizonHobby) and the RX crystal was not fully seated in the slot. Perhaps it wiggled loose due to vibration???? Anyways, I pulled it out along with the TX crystal and re-seated them both then powered back up and it still just blinks red & green over and over.

Is it possible that the loose RX crystal shorted out since it wasn't fully seated in the slot? I have a new set of crystals on the way but am just trying to figure out what happened??

Thanks!

be sure the crystal went into the sockets on the Rx. I pulled mine once and put it back in and it went off to the side and didnt go into the socket. I dont remember what the Rx did (blink or whatever) but its worth a doublecheck

My problem was the crystal in the Rx. Push it far enough in to make it into the sockets but dont push it all the way do so that the cover over the crystal is flush with the rest of the Rx surface.

Red and green blinking means the 4-in-1 isn't receiving any signal from the Tx. Assuming your Tx is actually transmitting, the usual suspect is a loose Rx crystal. Often time, just removing it and re-inserting it is enough to get to work again. As insurance, I have mine taped in place so it can't come out in flight.

Thanks for the reply...I've tried everything!! Unplugged both, re-seating them and still nothing. I'm waiting on a new set of crystals, starting to think I may have a bad one

You might also try turning the crystal around. That made a difference on mine although I had been told it didn't matter.

4-in1 probs. Don.t try this!
I've had my blade for about a month and upgraded to a li-po batt and also upped the tail motor and blades to the carbon fibers. I went inverted the other day (I already bought the up-graded motor for 3-D), but I figured I would waste the old 1. SO I DID! That thing went DOWN SMOKING! I melted the motor wires together because the motor could'nt handle it. Well, upon changing the motor out I found out that the 4-in1 got smoked too! Now trying to find one is a major hassle. Can anyone help? Also, I saw an upgrade kit on e-bay that was a metal motor and servo holder and allowed you to install 2 motors (I guess for the head?) Does anyone know of any aftermarket upgrades I can do to this thing?

The OEM 10T motor was designed for lower-voltage NiM batteries. If you use the higher-voltage 3s lipo's, you're supposed to use the 9T motor. By using the 10T motor with 3s putting large loads on it, the motor draws more current than the 4-in-1 can handle and burns up. With 9T, the motor can spin faster and uses less current.

I've been flying my BCP for 4 months now on 3s lipo's with no problems. Switching to 3s lipo's and installing the Aerobatic Enhancement Kit (AEK) were probably the two biggest improvements. Next was going to DD tail. Don't bother with the 2-motor geared tail. Otherwise, mine is still stock.

Still hav'in problems
Ok, I got my new 4-in1 today and I installed it. All I get is a steady red light. I might not have the plugs in both sides in the right order. Can anyone send me a pic of theirs (both sides of the 4-in1 plugged in) so I can double check my connections? 1 of my servos isn't responding on ch.3 of the reciever but does on other channels telling me that my servo is good. I hope I didn't get a factory defected 4-in1 unit.
Thank for the help.

Sounds like a bad TX to me. Stock TX with the Blade is crap. I sent my whole kit in twice. First trip got a new 4in1 and rebuild of crashed parts. Second time got another rebuild and a different TX. Worked for a while, then glitched again. Froze up after spool up on the ground, and spun itself into a wall, destroying the blades.

Blade CP is a fun heli but a complete peice of S**t because of the terrible service provided by Horizon. They absolutely refuse to listen to me when I explain the details of the failures. I tried to get them to replace this lemon, but they just won't budge. They can't wait to get me off the phone. So now I am a very dissatisfied customer with $220 less in my pocket.

Horizon, you Suck!!

Next time, forget the electric. I am getting a Tiger 50. If I do get another e-heli, it will be a shogun or something like that.

Balance, sorry for your experience. My son and I have a Blade CP each with several hours of flight time each and haven't had an ounce of problem. IMO, great quality for $220. I challenge you to find a better complete package for the money.

The crashes during my learning curve caused me to acquire a load of replacement parts but they are very inexpensive and the rebuild is trivial.

As far as Horizon goes, I have had nothing but TERRIFIC service. Their product support folks have answered all of my questions during crash rebuilds and were not quick to get off the phone.
