Out at the field with no calipers? Tired of converting metric to inches? Annoyed by the drawings in the manual not being to scale?

Well say goodbye to all those problems, and more. I've posted pdf files here that has all of the correct linkage lengths drawn to scale. Simply print using None for the Page Scaling option, and you'll be able to quickly and easily adjust any XL linkage to the correct (as shown in the manual) length.

I also included the different mainshaft hole distances to help avoid installing it upside down.

I double checked all measurements, but cannot guarantee I didn't screw up something somewhere. If you notice any errors or omissions let me know and I'll fix and update this ASAP.

Enjoy.

Click on the underlined word "here" in the second paragraph of the first post...it's a hyperlink that'll take you to where the pdf file is.

You are 'da man! I just printed this out on card stock so it will last longer. I stapled it to the back page of my T-Rex manual.

I just uploaded v.2, which has descriptions and metric/imperial measurements added.

This will be the final version, unless I've made an error(s) and need to post a corrected file.

Enjoy.

Muahahahahaha...I've got nothing to do and all winter to do it now. Well, except for eventually learning how to get and remain inverted while in control. And it might take more than one winter on a sim to do that at the rate I'm going.

And as for all you filthy rich swine on the west side of the Straw Curtain, all I can say is...well...congratulations on having the good fortune to be west of the Straw Curtain.

Re-read the first post. It's specifically for the XL.

Which ones specifically are too short? I just checked against the manual and they all seem to be correct, but it's more than possible I've made a mistake and missed it again.

Ok, I just triple checked everything against the manuals, and if the measurements were off it was most likely because it wasn't printed correctly. Page Scaling Must be set to None or it will print at only 94% of actual size.

As this information is kinda hidden in the text of the original post I've uploaded a new version that stresses this point on the sheet itself. Sorry if this caused any confusion.

I don't have an SE, but I do have the Align carbon frames and the full metal head from Modefo's. All the links are the same as the XL except the 3 that go to the 3 Servos.

1- Elevator (J) has a metal rod length of 28 mm with center to center of 39.8 mm and over all of 46.8 mm
2-Pitch (K) (Right side link) has metal rod length of 33 mm Center to center is 45 mm and over all is 52 mm
3-Aileron (L) (Left side link) has metal rod length of 19 mm and center to center is 30.8 mm with over all length of 37.8 mm

I used the pdf sheet to build all the links on the head and it made it much simpler to assemble. The assembly manual leaves a little to be desired on which link goes where. The 3 link measurements above are from the assembly sheet that comes from Align with the Carbon Fiber Main Frame Set.

With the swash locked in the middle level position looks like 0 pitch and the links are all centered up in the servo opening. The flybar is level and the washout links are level and aligned with each other.
