Yakima WA?
I'm about a 100 miles away in Hermiston Oregon.
I was wondering the same thing about this general area.

We have a pretty good amount of heli flyers here in Kennewick, WA as long as you're talking about Yakima, WA

I used to be in the helis hardcore for about 3 years, but of course life, job, and kids have moved my hobbies elsewhere. Throw me an PM if you'd like more info. Yakima is about 1 hour from Kennewick. Lots of experienced pilots that are will to help and almost always flying on the weekends.

And of course if you need any help, I'm available just about every weekend.

Just over there
I was just over there this week.
Sunny and about 50. It was great compared to my side of the mountains.
Between Selah and Yakima I don't think you will find too many heli pilots, but like Shawn said there are a ton in the Tri-Cities area.
Yakima is mostly farming and support for the training center.
This is the "greener" area of Yakima.

Thanks
I grew up in W. Wa. and went to college in Walla Walla and I've driven through there a bunch. We just got back from interviews in Tricities and Yakima this week, so I have a pretty good handle on the climate and topography. I tried to E-mail you, Shawn before I went, but the address I had was dead. I did talk to Mike at Mike's hobbies in Yakima and he said there were a couple of heli guys around, but not too many. There is plenty of wide open space and I don't anticipate a lot of problems finding a place to fly, it's just nice to have some others to comiserate with. BTW Jason, that Fury you sold me is still flying great. Thanks. steve.

Hey didn't even recognize the name...

Glad it is working well.
It's sister just went to Florida a couple weeks ago. I will miss it, but the Ion's are working well.

Steve,

Hmm.. not sure what email you had. Well get in touch with me when you all show up.

You should be able to PM me via runryder. If not my email is helinut@gmail.com

If all things go as I hope, I may have a new job here in the next few weeks that would be able to "offset" the cost of getting back in to the heli scene.

Rick's has a link to a site where one can locate other pilots. I got an E-mail address from there that I believe was for you, I might be wrong. Whomever's it was, it's a dead mail box. Thanks. steve.

Ahhh.. yeah I filled that out a long time ago. Then of course forgot my password so now I can't change it

So anytime you want to fly, just PM, or email me via runryder and we'll hook up. I have a 80% probability of having a heli by next year again.

So, Shawn does that mean you're not going to borrow my Fury for the auto contest at the Tri-Cities?

Glad to hear you're getting back into the game.

You never know what may happen. I'm in a strong need of a raise or changing jobs. The one income thing has finally hit home so the hobby budget has hit the dirt. Something about keeping a roof over our heads and the heat on that makes helicopters take a back seat

Jeff, thanks again for letting an unknown fly that Fury. Next time you'll let me have to fly the Falcon! And I promise we won't have to use oxygen!!!!

Jason... uh... make it a Raptor 50 V2 with a hyper and we'll talk!!!
