Just 2 simple questions!
Good day to you!

I have a couple questions to ask (for now), regarding Reflex XTR, and my JR8103DT transmitter. I am new so please don’t be too hard on me:

Question 1:

Last night, I tried using Reflex XTR for the very FIRST time on my PC, but noticed that none of the models would receive any input from the transmitter when the transmitter is switched ON (with the DSC cable and the transmitter module also connected).

But when the transmitter is switched on, I get the message “Turn the Transmitter On”. If I switched the transmitter off, it works fine, and I am able to send inputs to the models. The transmitter is in PPM mode.

I know that the encoder module of the transmitter will be operational and the LCD display will be lit, when the DSC cable is connected to the back, and that no actual transmitting is occurring from the JR radio – which is good.

But I just want to know if I am supposed to use XTR while the transmitter is in the OFF position, even though the software tells me to “Turn the Transmitter On”. I am highly inclined to believe that the transmitter should be in the OFF position.

Question 2:

I have not done any programming on the radio as yet, but can I also assume that ALL programming on the JR radio will be reflected on the models [in XTR] when flying?

Last night, I simply tested the software to make sure it was working, and then configured the channel assignments on the software so that the correct stick movements will do what I expect it to do. I am yet to do the necessary programming on the transmitter.

Thank you for your responses to the above in advance!

Sunrise,

1, Yes the radio is supposed to be used with the switch in the off position.

2, You can use your radio settings (idle ups and throttle Curves etc) on all
models you may have for XTR but first you have to go into the menu on xtr
choose modify parametres and then check the box that says use throttle curves.
This is also where you can choose to use a govener.
I fly till the ground comes to meet me!
