Tail slider from Flight Tech USA
Does anyone use this?
http://flighttechusa.com/store/Scri...sp?idproduct=24

I wonder how do you install it (which lever and how the pin is attached?)

Thanks.

This page is very clear, but I still don't know which lever was used...

That would work with the stock T-Rex 450X and 450X-V2, with the stock TR bellcrank. The pin just pops in the same hole the original one would. Just add plastic ball links. The pin seems to be already attached....

This one from Align, when available seems to be the same price, better design, and is designed for the XL double fork bellcrank.

I suspect that Wes at Modefo's will have these soon, if not already.

The stock lever like a grip, one end has a hole for the pin, the other end is a slot hold a plastic pin...
There is a hole on the metal slider, but the other end has nothing, no plastic pin or no place to install it, so the 'grip' will not hold proper on the slider...

The stock lever on the 450X or 450X-V2 is a single hole, no fork bellcrank. The pitch slider you pointed to was designed BEFORE Align introduced the 450XL with the forked pitch lever. Therefore, the slider is designed to work with the older, single hole, non-forked bellcrank.

The slider I pointed to is designed to work with the new forked bellcrank of the XLs.

I see. Thanks alot.
So, do you think it's ok to use it on XL and leave the fork bellcrank unused? Or it's better just use the stock one without this metal upgrade?

That’s not a very good design because it does not address the binding problem between the fork and the links to the grips. You need hinge like the new Align HS1133 and HS1135 upgrade parts. Align definitely has the better solution.

..
aligns solution is pretty good looking.... . and for the money, it can't be beat at this time.

but Duzi's design is really the BEST available. links are ball bearing to the grips, with the hinged links, AND a smooth sliding delrin center, as opposed to the brass center that Align is STILL using that splits down the middle with time and causes binding on the shaft.

but again, for the money, Aligns can't be beaten.

if you have dough to blow, get the Duzi. its REAL nice and works like no other. he also now has a slider arm that works with the metal tail cases.

I got the Duzi, with their tail shaft as well, and it's quite a bit better than the Align stuff. Still, it is expensive (cost me around $150), but you get more tail authority and less slop.

The Flight Tech design does not work well ..... STAY AWAY from it !

The design does not include a brass slider ring inside, therefore your tail shaft WILL be eaten up by the slider (I know from experience)! I am using the Microheli tail pitch slider and am very happy with it.

Yeah, the Align one looks smart.. Just need to make sure that it's serviceable like replaceable ball links. I will wait a month or 2.

I got their first aluminum blade grips after a month they came out with a new design.. How bad is that.. Oh well..
