just got my JGF 450TH
well i replaced my 400dh with the new 450TH, 11t pinion and 335 blades, kokam 2000 3s pack.

Love it, much better, the climbouts are real nice. flies with much more authority now. the 400dh was a great flier, but it just didn't have quick climbouts, but now OOH YEA.....

I've been thinking about the 400DH. I currently have the Align 2500KV. Can you tell me how the 400DH compares with my current motor?

Currently running the Align 2500KV with Align 25A ESC, and TP Pro-Lite 2100 3S.

Thanks.

well I have never flown the align motor, but do a quick search, from what I have seen here the 400dh it is a much better choice, and my 400dh is for sale.
acctually I loved the 400dh, i got 14 minute flights with the kokam pack, and overall performance was awesome, it was only lacking it climbout authority. it rolled and flipped as good or better them my Raptor 50, and the climbouts were about equal to the Raptor 30, the 450th is more like the R50 climbouts.

i get about 12 min flight time with my 450TH, about 695g heli. I run fixed at 100% throttle. 3 cells with the 13t. I just skipped the 400DH and went for the 450... The 450 is louder then the 803T and my himax.

oh yeah 2220 mAh pack.

I was going to say that that flight time was impossible, but looking at trextuning's inflight data, he was averaging 8.32A. So 12mins is very possible with a 2200mah pack, but it'd probably be some very gentle foward flight.

I also got about 12 minute flights, with the 11T pinion 700G heli. Kokam 2000pack. with the 335 woodies, very very quick,
curves are 100, 97,95 97 100,

not temp problems at all.... everything cool, i see no need to try any other pinions with the 335 blades

702g AUW, tp2100 pro lite, 450th 13t ,335mm, 100, 97, 95, 97 100 and my flight times are in the 7-8min range tops. I have no idea how some are getting better flight times except if they are flying very gentle or maybe some of the 450th are made a "little" differant.

At 0degrees pitch tached at 2800 +/-150rpm.

the 13T pinion will do it, sucking more amps, I am running the 11t, and I have not yet done a continuois flight, but several hard hops of 3-6 minutes, and checking temps of my 25 amp esc, but i came up with about 12 minutes on my Kokam with 3 flights, 2 at 3 and 1 at 6, the first 3 min was fairly soft flying, the next 6 was fairly hard, then 3 more minutes of very hard later inthe day. ( didn't have time to charge and had to get it up again after work before dark)...

I also would like to know what timing everyone is using.
Also, If you changed from one to the other, what was the difference you felt?

Thanks,

John

Since this motor is an outrunner.. the spinning body of my motor gets a bit warm.. However, the main stationary part is hot, about 130F is this normal? I'm running 13T

I received my 450TH today. I've noticed that the wires on the 450TH are small compared to the wires on my Align 25A ESC, like half as small in diameter as the ESC's wires.

Shouldn't they be a little larger?

ok tried my advanced timming this AM, unfortunatly we had high winds and rail lastnight.

but for today it was good, again 450th 11t pinion align 25 esc (advanced timming) Kokam 2000 3s 15c, 335 blades auw 700G
i put on a full 8 min of hard flying, nothing but full climbouts and flips rolls etc no hovering and no FFF. 8 min was all I got onthis flight, not sure if the advanced timming had any noticable effect, I believe it did have a bit more power but I did loose some flight time. it was 40 degrees out this AM and end of flight temps were.
Battery 97-100
motor 64
esc 67
so overall this motor combo is very easy on the batt and esc but then againit was only 40 degrees out.

headspeed is higher then with the 400dh but have not tached it yet.

I had my 450th set in Fixed/Advance timing. I switched the CC esc to standard timing and i will try to get a flight in today to see any difference.

What are you guys selecting for rate switching/khz= Auto detect, high outrunner or 13k?

With the high pole outrunner setting and a 450TH, I even got high gov to work on a Phoenix 25 with no wag at all. This was on standard timing and on a Walkera #36 (don't ask - it was a bet)

So these 450th outrunners like the Low frequency for PWM rate?

Just want to make sure that auto detect would not be better?
