Sorry typo in my message, I'll try again.

I had this on the second start of of new turbine, I tried the turbine again (because there was no binding) with no problem. It clocked up over 16 hours with no further problems. I did not send it back to JetCat, I just restarted the turbine!!

Upto you, if it turns freely now with no binding you could try another start or just send it back to JetCat

This is a little worrying as I have just started to build my Powercat today.

Why worry Just get and build it, then fly it There's no problems with these turbines. I've had 5 PHT3's in different helis and non of them have had to be sent back to JetCat.

Hi SJFERROZZO

I do not think I'd be too happy with the JetCat problem you had.

I know that there have been some issues with the NGV casting being machined a bit 'thin' and with a little bit of overheating they crack or distort and catch the turbine wheel... bang! I've got a failed JC unit on my work bench with a similar problem.

I understand that Bob J as a top 3D pilot had problems with the JC two stage being unreliable for about 15 months, with the problem in that unit not being sorted. I do not know what has changed to improve them now they are being sold commercially... and it seems that Bob J certainly is not flying one anymore.

I certainly would not advise anyone who has an issue of parts rubbing with start-up to just shut down and then carry on again... and if all seems OK then just carry on regardless. These mechanical glitches do not usually just 'heal themselves'.

Good Luck with your flying and your rebuilt turbine...
