Hi All,

I'm flying my winter bird, the Elite FP, and when I "tap" into things the main blades fold but I often break the ball off the main grip (CNE202).

This is a 3.5mm ball. Does anyone know where I can get linkage balls? I'd like to drill the grip out and put in aluminum balls.

Thanks, in advance,

Cheers,
Leslie

Helihobby has the metal balls in stock now. I'm not sure if I'm going to order them. In the mean time I broke another stock blade grip ball. I had a spare set of CP blade grips so I tried them and they worked fine ,tracked out the blades and the elite flys smooth as it did before. I'm using my blade cp mod on both my elites FP. The mod is taking an end of a blade cp pitch link and screwing it onto the threads of the elite fp pitch link(the link end that attaches the flybar). I'm able to use the flat bottom 0 pitch stock blades from my blade cp.

Good to see both of you here

Roger your ESC went out yesterday, Goddess, yours is going to be in the mail today

I have the same problem in building my Eos. What I have at home is Century Part # CNE307A. What I want to do is using the ball to fix the blade grips and use the linkage as the longer links needed to adjust pitch. I have not gotten around to that part, but once I do I will report .

HI, Leslie,

Just saw the picture of your little poor Jetta. But I don't think the insurance will total it with those "LITTLE" damages. Good luck on getting it repaired or getting a new car. It's a shame that it must has been a nice car before it all happened. Is it the one with a 1.8T, those are good!

HI, Roger

Are those yellow blades from the "Goddess Signature series"? They look nice . Is that Mrs. holding your baby bird? My wify won't touch any of my birds. She calls them the "Died flys w/o head". See how supportive my wife is

Hi All,

I'm back from vacation! Had a great time sailing in the B.V.I.!! I'm a little battered and bruised but it was great.

hey, Arnie to you have a part number for those link balls from century? are they the same as what GF has?

Arnie has sent me longer links. I'm going to try making a pair of blades without the 7degree shim and see if I can get enough pitch to fly my fp around. I'll keep you all posted.

GF, thanks for the esc, I'll keep my eye out for it. thanks again.

Cheers,
Leslie

the jetta is still in the shop, but the police sent me some great pix, I'll post them when i get unpacked

Welcome back leslie,
The ball links are at helihobby.com They are direct replacement for the cnc blade grips. Maybe century carries them also. The part# is CNE 258-1 check my gallery leslie.
Gordon,
Yes that's my precious Mrs. holding precious cargo. She's been a good sport now that she sees me actually flying.

The CNE258-1 have no nuts, and are they long enough to put nut on the other side? Otherwise are you going to tap the hole?

These are replacement links so there is no room for a nut as they thread into the cnc grips. However if you drill a hole through the stock bladegrip you could ca them to work. Check out helihobby.com they have other sets with nuts.

Hi, Roger, forgot to ask you, How did you make the tail boom purple? It looks right on with all your CNC parts . And what blades are those yellow colored ones?

That purple my friend is paint (metellic purple). The boom is aluminum which is a little heavy so I ordered 5/16 butyrite plastic round tubes from towerhobby to try. If they are lighter I'll use them. The blades are painted yellow.

Hi All,

I just glanced at my 3dpro manual and saw the cne-258 parts. I think I'll try those. I like the idea of keeping the ball connection to the grip as the weakest link. I'm afraid if I put a nut on or otherwise make it real strong something more substantial will break.

and yeah, those are nice yellow blades wink, wink, nod, nod! GF you have to get that elite built

Cheers,
Leslie

Hi All,

GF, I put a couple more photo's of my poor little jetta in my gallery. The police were nice enough to share a couple pix. My jetta is (was) a turbo diesel. I love this little bugger. I really miss the 55mpg vs my dodge ram that I'm driving now...owch!

I will save some grips for you too!

Cheers,
Leslie

Wink wink nod nod, if my son goes to bed early, I may start my Eos project tonight .

Les, you may want to block your Lic. plate number when you post a picture on the internet .

For some reason I thought it was a Hummer sitting on top of your hood .

Man! a TDI, those are good. Is it being repaired? I sure hope it will be back on the road. The TDIs are a rare breed in the US. I wanted one except what's up with the price premiun over other models. Maybe they will soon make a TDI Golf, and that will be just the perfect commuter car . Good for you driving a stick shift. My wify can't, therefore I have to drive an auto too, in case her car breaks down . That's just not fair .

You are too cool! Victory Vegas, Dodge Ram, TDI, T-Rex, 3D Pro, Elite FP, I am speechless!

What are the colors that I can choose from for my new Signature Series Blades?

3D Pro? I have only "1D" under my belt, what am I going to do with "3D"?

Hi All,

Yeah the tdi is very hard to find now. I picked this one up in 2003, the VW dealership sends me a note every month offering to buy it back at a very attractive price. I got it before it was popular so the price was real low for a loaded car. It's being fixed, the estimate is around 4500.00. oh well.

Yes, children need their sleep!! I have cut the airfoils on your blades. Do you want the 7degree shim? The blade without it is too thin for the grips, I could put in a 'flat' shim if that's what you prefer. I saw you were playing with the longer links too, I have not tested this configuration.

Color? I have Krylon red, yellow, white, and blue. If you have another choice I can spot the 1.80 for a can Let me know.

I'm waiting on a belt drive setup from crb68. when I get it, I will put your esc in it. I fly 3 to 4 packs a night so I can give it a great shake out. I let you know when I get up and running with the new esc. I'm pretty psyched to get this project started!!

Thanks for the tip on the license plate, I've adjusted the photos

Cheers,
Leslie

What kind of blue? if it's light sky blue, I will take that, otherwise white is fine. No need to get more paint . Do you put the shims on last? Can you wait and see how yours does w/o the tapered shim? Thanks a bunch!

Crap! I haven't write down your plate number yet. Too late now

3D Pro? I have only "1D" under my belt, what am I going to do with "3D"?

Hi GF,

It's a medium blue, I'll go with the white. The white really looks sharp. I'll tinker with the shim issue this weekend and see what i can come up with.

Cheers,
Leslie
