Thinking of buying a 90 size heli, and was looking at the predator max is this a good choice? or not, and what engine do you recommend.

I like the way mine flies better than my R90, Freya, or Extreme. It's generally been very reliable with the one exception that the Aluminum frames eventually crack from vibration. The only upgrades I've used are a front mounted t/r servo and the t/r speed up gears. You'll find many posts here complaining about Century's service, but the only problem I've had after ~20 orders over a 10 year period was with an occasional part that's out of stock. Usually they will call or E-mail if they don't have something, but it would be nice if the web site gave you that info up front. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one, but would probably get the CF frames if I did. Hope this helps. steve.

Seems like I have had similar experiences with the big block heli's as Steve9534 with MinAIr and Hirobo. Now I have a Predator Max and a Predator GS (ali frames). After two summers of use they have become my favorite helis.

Relatively easy to built, very dependable (my frames are even intact after a mishap with each) and can they fly!!!! Very agile, precise and yet stable in winds.

I use the YS-91 in the Max and the G231 in the Predator GS.

NOTE: I found it very important, on aluminum "stacked frame" designs, that they be aligned properly on their vertical & horizontal planes. Consequently I leave the bolts that attach the plates of the top frame and lower frames loose until assembly is complete on each. Then I place them vertically on a glass plate and align them. Then I tighten the bolts. This I learned from the days of flying TSK Blackstar and 5-Star stacked frames. By so doing I found any "fatique" creacking is kept to a minimum (almost inconsequential)
