well after 10 months of flying my raptor 30's . i finly got the balls to auto the thing! in the last month i've hovered inverted 2" from the ground, did my first ff inverted , first backwards flite full circet backwards loops farward loops tail down funnel , and flips. but still no autos. so saterday i finly did it. and it was alot eazyer than i thought it would be. what a blast !!!
after reading here that 30'sdon't auto to well and not haveing a auto gear to drive the tail kept me to afraid to try them for the longest time.
there is even some limmited control of the rudder.

eny way . if you have been to chicken like i have , no need to they were alot eazyer than i thought they would be . and the r 30 autos just fine.

now i need more power !!! my new r50 will fly today for the first time , i hope

Years ago when dinosaurs walked the earth (PR) pre-raptor a lot of us old timers auto'ed machines without weighted blades and no driven tail.

Congrats--------------what took you so long?

That's nothing...
In the early 80's, Hubert Bitner autoed his flybarless Horizon 60's without an autorotation bearing. He just used weighted wooden blades alone and dragged the tail rotor along for the ride. He was amazing with that heli. Wonder why he gave up on heli flying?

Later...

I remember the Horizon 60. I still have a new one in the box. If you remember, the auto clutch was the clutch. The unique design of that machine allowed you to do autos with it.

I used to speak with Hubert once in a while when he was with Helmut.

Now that you've mastered the flying, maybe you could put some time into learning spelling and grammar.

For the simple reason that it took me long enough to decypher your post that I simply had to make a smart-ass comment.

No need to go to all that trouble. There are plenty of free spell-checkers out there that are easy to use and take no time at all.

It really doesn't take much to make your post easy to read and understand. It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who post on internet forums (not just this one) expecting advice but can't be bothered to at least write clearly.

BTW I expected the reply you gave me. It just goes to show what an intelligent and polite individual you are. I'm happy you learned to auto. It is easy, isn't it?

Well done.
