Hey guys, pretty much totaled my rappy today. Engine + Muscle pipe gone. Blades/flybar and all the usuals. but.... Frames + electrics ARE in good shape.
The head is also in good shape as it was all metal. (TDG)
So I'm thinkin about getting a hirobo seadu EVO instead of buying yet another raptor kit so I can fix my rappy (cheaper than buying replacement parts seperate).

So this being a rappy area,.. your challenge is to stop me from getting an EVO and putting my rappy parts up for sale

fwiw..

At best a lateral move...If you factor ease of maintenance/parts pricing, not even that...Evo flies well, so does Raptor.

Go for it - it gets boring having everyone flying the same brand and TT need some viable competition. Hows that ?

No one in the TT area is going to stop you from buying what you want. We understand that people have FUN in this hobby and fly what they like. If you are itching to fly an EVO - GET ONE. Thats it - do what you want. You will get a handful of fanboys from the TT and Hirobo camps that will claim up and down that "brand x" is the best. They are both wrong - both helis have plusses and minuses and you will only learn through flying both which heli suits your needs best. Both are great helis and if you really want to try an Evo, go for it. But, dont go purely off the opinions you read on RR; like in all forums, just because someone is more vocal does not make them right, you know?

I say give it a try and see if it is a machine for you - you can always go back or another way as well. I did. I am going to probably try a Tiger 50 next just because it will be fun to try another 50 heli out. Its a fun hobby

And as for you oneinnesja, youre right.....Both the raptor and the EVO are great helis. And you shouldn't be rushed to prefer one over the other.

Why is it called common sense if it is so very rare?

I owned both. I did not follow too much on what poeple said here on RR regarding the EVO .50 but I can tell you I Immed sold the EVO .50 to a friend and built a Hopup Rappy .50 and I was glad I did.

For the flying I am trying to do I found the Rappy to do a better job for me but I also fly the X-Spec with a YS .91 for the 90 class so I am kinda in between both models so I fly both brands

I do love my Rappy .50 and .30 though alot has to do with Setup, Pilot Skills and Electronics otherwise they are both great machines it really depends upon the persons taste.
