Well Guys,
After much thought and consideration I'm thinking about getting an electric. I'm having trouble finding a place to fly my 50v2 Hyper. I have more or less decided on the T-Rex and I hear that a new blinged out version is due real soon. One question I have is there any advantage to the CCPM model over the standard configuration?
Any input would be appreciated!
Ron…

Actually, they BOTH fly about the same. The HDE is standard mixing and has the advantage that it's setup is more direct (some say easier). The HDE is a small version of your Raptor 50. The CDE is CCPM which uses three servos to directly drive the swashplate. To use the CDE, you MUST have a radio that is capable of 120 degree CCPM mixing. The biggest drawback to the CDE is that servos almost always strip in a crash. This can get quite expensive if you are starting out and learning on this machine.

Both of these machines are quite capable .... It is really a matter of personal preference.

I was thinking about the new one with the carbon frame, I think it's going to be a blinged v3 but I'm not sure. I haven't really compared all the frame options. My main concern was with the CCPM system. I've never flown one before and not sure how it compares to the standard swash.

I've got a JR 9303H so it'll handle most anything out there.

I don't think that the carbon fiber HDE is available yet (I have two carbon fiber HDEs ..... I designed the frames ...... they both fly like mini-Raptors). Currently, the Superoirt edition is supposed to be the CDE version (CCPM). I believe that Align is working on the carbon frames for the HDE, but have no idea when they will be released.
