Are 10mm drill rods that you can buy from supply house's hard enough for shafts? If you need a longer shaft for a scale project, could it be too soft and bend while running?? Also are the rods straight???

The are typically 28-35 Rc and straight unless they got tweaked in handling. They are also size for size with the bearings in your heli so that shafts need to be polished to fit.

I have made main and feathering shafts for a nexus I used to have and they worked really well.

I use them for tail shafts for my X400.
