Is it necessary to buy a crankshaft clamp to lock the engine crankshaft for fixing the flywheel onto engine. Otherwise, any smart method can be used.

Its best, but I just use the plastic ends from the Raptor boom supports - one on each side of the exhaust port divider.

i too use the toothbrush method for this job. no sense in spending $13 when a $1.99 toothbrush does the same thing.

Yes, It's worth it!
You are talking about the assembly that requires the highest amount of tightening on the entire heli!
Photo in my gallery shows the crank-lock with a good length piece of hardwood through it. Using this setup along with the correct wrench on the opposite end, you can eliminate all the guess work about IF it's tightened enough.
Leave the red lock-tite on the shelf...just a trace of blue will do!

Tooth brush, OR more recently when I was working on my Cspec, the tooth brush wasn't strong enough (cut in half) so I used a cut down plastic screwdriver handle which is still just about in one piece.
