How does a trex perform on 3s setups

I want 3D performance, and am plunging into my first electric. but if i am going to buy , i prefer to buy correctly from the start

here is what i am debating on

3s setup--------------------------5s setup
mega 16/15/3------------------ mega 16/15/5
TP 3s 2100 prolites------------3s+2s 1320
CC 35A Pheonix--------------- Jazz 40 6 18
hs 56 servos for both setups

would i get a decent 3d performance from the 3s setup, or would it be better to just go full out

How about a happy medium 4 cell setup?

A guy at my local club as a 5 cell setup like the one you're considering, all I can say is he has insane power. Another guy who flew it says it's got more power than his Raptor 50. Downside is shorter flight times.

I'm running pretty much the 3 cell setup you listed, and if I had to do it all over again I'd go 4 cell from the start.

i used to run 3s. converted to 4s and will never look back. with the 3s , i was always looking for more power. when i went to 4s, i had to tune down alittle. now i got extra power in the bag when i need it. way better with 4s. never tried 3s+2s though. its gotta be better than 3s though
