I want to get the metal KSJ parts for the Caliber. However I'm not particularly fond of its yellowish color. Has anybody bought these and painted them? What paint should you use? Can it be re-anodized to a different color?

Thanks for your input.

easy off oven cleaner takes off the color
Anybody want to test the easy-off trick and let me know what happens? I would rather prefer the plain aluminum color rather than yellow.

Chris, you can chalk off the expense under R&D. If it works well, I'll by most of the KSJ bling from you

Thanks,

There was a thread on the Trex forum a few months back. Someone bought a bunch of bling and used Easy Off to remove the anodize. It totally destroyed all the metal parts. I dont recall who made the stuff or what alloy, but it was ruined. I'd be careful.

I vaguely recall that post. But that was easy-off? Maybe I can try the classic sand papar route

If you let the aluminum sit TOO LONG in the Easy -Off oven cleaner then the lye will start to eat the aluminum away. It works but you have to be careful with it.
