What's the best blades to use for the Hummingbird Elite FP? I know like blades are good, I want a good solid stock blade or carbon fiber.

Thanks,

Arnie

Hi Rogersresort,

I've recently, okay tonight, put like90 wood FP blades on my Elite FP. I absolutely love them. I've had nothing but problems with the stock blades for the elite. My V2 blades were unstoppable, very resilient. The elite blades from Century are crap, very brittle. I've had two break in my hands just wiping them down.

The like90's are light and give incredible stabilty to this little bird. These blades would be my #2 recommendation on upgrades, just after brushless motor(s).

I have not smacked into anything yet, just a matter of time, so I can't tell you how solid they are in crash respect..... yet.

hope this helps,
Cheers,
Leslie

Thanks lesie, that's what I wanted to know if the century blades were any better ,your right the v2 are super I have those and they are almost break proof and was hoping the elite blades were the same. You saved me from making a bad choice. You say the like 90's are your #2 choice. Is #1 carbon fiber? I can't find the cf blades that fit or at least I should call and ask helihobby if they know. Century has cf blades ,but they are for the v3 I believe.

Thanks so much!

Hi Rogersresort,

Sorry for the confusion, the like90 blades are my first choice in blades, the price vs performance is tops.

When I said it was my second choice in upgrades, I meant going brushless would be my first upgrade, then blades second.

I have not tried carbon fiber blades, the cost has put me off.

Cheers,
Leslie

Humminbird FP blades
Thanks leslie ,I'm taking your advice. I ordered the like 90 blades. I'm going with a 4-in-1 control and a blade cp 10T motor so I can use 3cell li-po batteries and not worry about enough head speed. This should work well. i'll keep you posted.

Hummingbird elite set-up and flying
Leslie I thankyou again for your advice. All the parts came in ,the blades first so I installed them the other day. Today the 4-in-1 control and servos came and I was able to complete the set-up. All I can say is wow! So smooth and nice it took right off and just wanted to climb than hover so steady. Those esky servos are fast my reflexes are still average at best so I have to fly simple fixed pitch and I like it that way for now. I have my blade cp and honeybee cp2 to get fancy if i want to.

God Bless you good!

I'll keep that in mind and thanks for the info. Helihobby has a set of wood blades for FP at the price of $14 ,but I haven't heard of anyone's experience with them.

One of the best, if not the best Blades you can put on one, are the Kyosho M24 blades! They are almost indestructable, and they have less pitch, so the head speed goes up, so its more stable! I've messed with the Hummingbirds since they were released, so i've tried tons of different blades, and these are the best hands down!

When I went to these, my flying improved 10 fold!

Hi Airmicro,

Where do you find those Kyosho blades? What is the price? I've found the like90's real stable on the elite (where I can adjust the pitch down and up the head speed). But I'm always on the look out for better and cheaper

Cheers,
Leslie

Correct me if I'm wrong ,but the M24 blades won't work on the elite model with the blades grips. They will work with the rotor head of the V2 ,V3 models?

I remember seeing a listing for Walt Ferar CF Flat Bottom 225mm blades for the HB. Anyone used these or know where they are available? Happy flying, Tom

Leslie, most any dealer that sells Kysoho can order them. Kyosho parts are harder to find now that alot of people have quit dealing with them and Towers and Kyosho parted! I think most LHS go direct to Kyosho USA now in Cali.

They work great, and sell for $10.00-$12.00 pair! Try them, you won't be disappointed!
