Hi,

I currently stay in NJ area, suffering from the bad weather. Is there a tip for a good airfield/flying place that has some decent weather in a range of 2-4 hrs driving? I have tomorrow whole day. VRAM and Valley Forge are already on my schedule for sunday.

Cheers - wolfgang

Try the Delaware R/C Airfield. This field has been around for over 20 years.

It's next to the Lums Pond State Park. Check it out.

Looking under flying site and for directions. You can either use yahoo maps for driving directions.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out tomorrow morning. I hope the weather is a little better than 100 miles north.

There's the Seaview Rotary Wings club, in Brooklyn, NY. Very close to NJ, just a few exits east of the Verazzano Bridge.

I got the Delaware RC field this morning - lovely field and nice people.

Thanks for the Brooklyn tip - I'll see how I can find it. NY is not the best place for a north german country side driver ...

Cheers - wolfgang

One of the nicest things about the Delaware R/C Field is that every year the:
WAR Birds Over Delaware
&
Helis Over Delaware (formally known as the Hirobo East Event)
Events are held.

These are 2 major events that makes the Delaware R/C Airfield a primary mark in both arena's for having a Panarama field added to both Reflex & G3 taken.

Note: There should be 2 parts to the Panarama as follows because our filed is L "shaped" which gives the Helis their own air space and the airplane guys their own air space. (I like this because it dosn't restrict when either helis or airplanes can fly.) The the nicest part is the radi inpound in in the middle between both runways.

I'm not looking out for just the Delaware Heli Flyers, but for both. If you have had an oppurnity to visit this field either during one of the primary events or just to stop by and say hello you would know what i'm talking about.

One of the nice features of the area is Lums Pond Park grounds & Camp Grounds are about 5-10mins around the corner.

Delaware is about 1hr from South Jersey, Phil. PA, Baltimore and about 2hrs from NY, NY. etc.

Seaview would make for some awesome pictures with the bridge in the background.

Someday, I might put a cute statement here.
