I need some advice on how to get more forward air speed out of my Raptor 60 and 90.
My R60 current setup in IDLE 1 is:
Blades: Zig Saw 680mm Carbon
Max pitch 9.5
Mid-stick 4.5
Low Stick -6
Head speed is 1750 RPM maintained a GV1 and power by an OS 61.
Raptor 90 setup in IDLE 1 is:
Blades: Fun Key 710mm Carbon
Max pitch 9.5
Mid-stick 4.5
Low Stick -6
Head speed is 1700 RPM maintained a GV1 and power by an OS 91

My idea is to increase the max pitch to 10 and the RPM 1800?
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Your on the right track by increasing pitch to gain top speed. However, at some point, your motor will run out of power to turn the blades. You would have to lower the diameter of the disc to be able to continue at this point.

or change the gear ratio

On my 90
Sab 710's or V 690's
1850 HS
8.27 ratio
10.5/-10.5 pitch
7/-7 cyclic
95mm V paddles

If you go to 1800 for HS your engine rpm will be 14866 for 8.27 ratio and 15210 for 8.45. I feel the 15210 is better if you have an MP2. I run 1850 on 8.27 to achieve the around 15300 RPM.. its a great spot for the MP2. Unfortunately I do not have any experience with the Hatori's so hopefully someone can pipe in and give you info on their setup.

I run 1900 rpm at around +10 degrees in a R90SE and it gives it a quite good forward speed.

R90 is like a rocket now!!!!
Sorry… I did not get a chance to test out right away all the great advice you guys gave me, because of the weather.
Yesterday I finally put her to the test.

Full pitch is 10.5 with a rotor RPM 1800 and 710 Funkey Blades
I must say, I am very pleased with the end product.

Thanks everyone for all your great advice!!!

If you lower the ratio with a a 91 to 7.75 you can get 1900-1950 RPM on the head! I had my 60 with this setup for a while. It was good for big fast manouvres but was easy to bog during tic toc/ flips & pitch pumping etc. I was running 11.5 degrees of pitch too and collective had to be fed in gradually to avoid rotor decay.

The blades were SAB 68.5's.

Good luck

710mm may be a bit much for a 60. trying 680mm may be a good solution. for real speed though---Cspecit man!
