A shorter flybar will offer quicker response than a long one.....and for even faster resopnse, use lighter weight paddles.

Cop: Sir, have you been drinking? Driver: Why? Is there a fat girl in my backseat?

The speed of the response will be directly related to the length. "Longer" is "faster" all else being the same.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it all down to leverage. The longer the lever the more the lift.
