Incorrect spelling doesn't irritate me as much as people using the word "then" in place of the word "than" .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

It's not the members who don't speak English as their first language who are the offenders . You foreign speaking chaps do rather well .

Then and than are totally different

Saying "this is better then that" is wrong, it should be "this is better thAn that"

It annoys me too, Lorents its not because people are from different countries, its just people are getting it wrong.

Than, is a compartive term.

Then is a tense term, past present future, "this happened THEN that happened"

I think we all should start to post in Spanish or Portuguese. I bet that some members would appreciate that and make less typos.

Tony

PS - English isn't my first language and I try to write as good as possible but mistakes DO happen ("than" and "then" can be confusing sometimes) and I apologize for that.

The then and than thing seems to mostly be an american thing, maybe its just how they use it, but if so then that isnt english.

Americans' would it hurt you to also spell color colour, and aluminum aluminium, thats its proper spelling by the guy who named it, and what about thru, is it too much trouble to spell it through???? (you get more points in scrabble )

Also while we are at it, what about saying Herbs instead of erbs, if has a f'ing H in it (reference to Eddie Izzard )

"good" is an adjective...must modify a noun

"well" is an adverb...modifies verbs. well in the above sentence modifies your writing, so must take the adverbial form.

also it's easy to remember then/than: then refers to a time, than compares two things.

when did you crash your heli? back then.

which heli will you buy now? dunno...i like the evo50 better than the R50.

all that said, i can't conjugate verb one in portugese, spanish, german, norwegian, swedish, or any other non-english language. so, you fern-ers are doing great. someone just needs to slap these U.S. retards in the neck.

/grammar nazi off

if it ain't broke, break it.

Remember, if two things are too loose you might lose them.

But you should never lose sight of loose things that might fly off at the flying site.

Then you're guaranteed that your heli will fly better than before.

If I had a dollar for every time I have seen these two things used incorrectly, I might be too rich to bother with these types of posts.

Casi siempre que hablo o escribo en ingles y que comento algún error en utilizar una palabra, alguien amablemente me corrige y normalmente me dice; “I wanted to speak Spanish as you speak English ".
Ya en alguna ocasión alguien en el foro me corrigió, en la utilización de una palabra.

Un saludo desde Mexico

I could never figure out when to use BITCH and BEACH. They tell me that they usually go hand in hand with a couple of beers.
