If you are using the R700 receiver, be sure to connect the power from the ESC to the dedicated power input port ..... it makes a difference !

Question for MIkeinMobile,, how does the THROTTLE connnection from the escapement connect to the dedicated "BATTERY" connection and still get data from the THROTTLE channel??? I have the (power/bec lead) connected to channel ONE (throttle for JR radio equipment) my battery connection is open. Isa there a difference between JR recievers and Hitec recievers in that the battery on hitec can connect to ANY channel??

Please,, I'm confused now,, as my system runs great after adding the ferrite bead as described by Ozydego many threads ago,,,What did I miss, or without my knowing add to make it all operate?? Just wondering?? Thanx,,,(kinda new trex/electric pilot)

Yes, there is a difference. On the R700 receiver, there is a dedicated power input port, which feeds the positive lead on all of the other ports through an etched inductor. The power distribution etching is different on the R700 compared to other receivers. On most receivers, there is a wide copper trace connecting all of the positive sero pins. On the R700, there is a star configuration for power distribution. Each power pin uses a seperate trace to the power port pin.

The easiest way is to construct a splitter using 2 female (socket type) connectors and 1 male (pin type) connector. Simply connect all of the red wires together, all of the black wires together, and all of the white / yellow wires together. Plug the ESC into the male (pin) side and then plug the two females into the throttle and power ports. This is the easiest way to do the job.

Is it a new battery? There is a phenomenon with some lipo batteries, where they do not perform until their cores are heated up. So when they are cool, the voltage can drop early untill they warm up. Now, none of my bats have ever had this particular issue, but there is a guy at my club who swears its a problem, and sets all hes batteries on a towel on his engine block when he gets up to the field, after 5-10 minutes they are warmed up.

Of course this is assuming all the obvious things like the ESC hitting its peak and shutting down are not relevant. I usually turn off current limit protection on the castle ESC's, and then just measure with an in-ine meter. As long as I feel I'm not going to pop the electronics I feel better knowing they aren't going to make the descision to turn off without my input.

Turn off current limiting on the ESC. The CC35 current limiting system is not quite up to par. You can check to see if this is the problem by lowering the throttle back down to zero and raising the throttle back up. If the motor restarts, the problem is the current limiting system. When the ESC detects a high power pulse to the motor, it cuts all power to the motor. This is a safety that can be overridden. This happens with a lot of motors when using the CC35 (and CC25).
