I just tried a search to find a JR crystal 72mhz.
Seems that they have them up to 60mhz.
So how do you use the electron 6 receiver with the JR 8103.
I have the air version that I am using in the Evo with
no problem, I like the throttle action and am used to the
radio.
Maybe I am just not looking at the right site or something.

Horizon Hobby has the crystal that you need (they are the authorized JR dealer and service center).

Heliproz has Hitec Electron 6 dual conversion RX crystals for about $9 each. Tower Hobbies should also have them, they sell the Electron, as well.

Works fine with the 8103 in my T-Rex. Buy the receiver crystal to match your transmitter's channel. Make sure you get the DUAL conversion crystal, the single conversion one WON'T work.

The Hitec part number is 66772XX, where XX is the channel number ("23" for channel 23, "54" for channel 54...)

The synthesized TX module will be completely worthless with his Electron 6 if the RX doesn't have the correct type of crystal installed. It would be like buying an outboard motor, but no boat to go with it.

For your HITEC reciever you need a HITEC crystal.(NOT a JR crystal) On the SAME FREQUENCY (Channel) that your transmitter MODULE is on.. Some people do change the crystal in this module,(and this WOULD be a JR crystal,,for the TRANSMITTER, NOT a RECIEVER JR crystal)) but it ISN'T a real good idea, The transmitting module is TUNED for the frequency it is on...take this for what it's worth, (but I have fairly extensive RF electronics background from the old days of Ham radio),,, the final tank circuits of a transmitter are PEAKED for a certain frequency,,, not a RANGE of them!!! However do what you want,,, Most people do anyway!!!

Actually, transmitter modules are setup for one of two ranges, the upper half and the lower half. No transmitter in production today is individually peaked at the factory.

The High and Low are Futaba artifacts, and even Futaba has moved away from the Hi and Low strategy.

From the Futaba FAQ page:
Please explain Hi and Low band to me? I am not sure what the difference is between them.

Most of our 72Mhz receivers are now tuned to the center of either a low band frequency (channel 11 to channel 35) or high band (channel 36 to channel 60).

By tuning to each band, you can easily and safely change your receiver crystal to anywhere within this high or low band range, without having to send it in to be retuned.

If you have a receiver that is not marked as to which channel it is, or if it is not marked with a sticker that says if it is High or Low, you can check inside the crystal slot to see if there is a red mark. If there is a red mark, this indicates that the receiver is High band.
There's the Futaba dividing line....

Thanks for the info.
So it shouldn't be a problem to get the dual in 50mhz, which is
what my radio is on.
Was hoping to find a t-rex xl used but so far
I've seen one on RR with no price that
the guy wants a trade for.
Just looked on ebay and found a very good price on a combo,
and case.
Did get some figures from Modefo's as well.
Trying not to get carried away the way it usually ends up in this hobby.
So many choices, and like my Evo, I got alot
more heli than I needed to begin with.
But all in all I am enjoying it and I guess that
is what matters.
