could some one please verify what i think i just figured out......i have been flying 30 and 50 size for about a year, and of course there sitting on a bench or ground when i turn them on and start them. i just got my t-rex all fixed up and flying thanks to a few guys on this forum. but.......sometimes when i fire it up.....the tail is uncontrollable....others, it's fine....and i just realized ,sometimes i'm holding it when i plug the ESC in....other times it's on the table.....so.....my question, is it true that the heli has to be still until the gyro initilizes? or do i have some kind of intermittant problem going on that has nothing to do with holding the heli while plugging it in

thanks, biggster

Fly the blades off it !!

The heading hold gyros that I'm familiar with all require that you leave the heli sit undisturbed for about three seconds after applying power while the gyro goes through its initialization.

Actually, ALL gyros have to initialize. The helicopter should be setting on the ground or a table until the gyro has finished initializing.
