winter time, would like to get a cheap micro that will allow me to practice my orientations during the winter. it needs to fly well out of the box though and i'm not interested in buying parts to make it fly better. If there is such a rig, please let me know. Thanks.

Hard to beat the Hirobo Sky Robo Lama for what you describe as it's mission. Easy to practice nose-in, reverse flight. side in hovering, figures of 8 in both directions and it will work in a family or living room without marring up the walls or scratching the furniture. In spite of it's over abundance of stability, it will keep the eye hand coordination sharpened and allow you to progress so you'll be ready for Spring when things thaw out.

Yeah, it's nearing time to get that Sky Robo back out!

It's not the cheapest at ~$300 (includes transmitter), but it works awesome for orientation training. And single word warning from those of us who have tried the knock-offs: Don't!

The only "not real" aspect is it's over-stability... You need to maintain an input to keep it moving, whereas a "real" heli will keep going until you enter the opposing input.

This is pretty much the only micro that you can pretty much run into a person without injury! Usually only the foam blades will break (which is good), but in the following video (last winter) there was no damage:

Note: The cabin light is a DIY add-on, and of course the Turbine sound was dubbed

Great Video!!!!!

Nice job with the video, like the sound effects!!!!
But, I have to ask why????? Why do we have to go after the balloon on a string that we know is going to get tangled up in the blades, but still do it anyway??? I did the same thing with my Shogun last year.... it was really impressive on how quickly it ran up that string!!! (But at least I broke the balloon!!!) And no damage to the heli!!!!

Take care...... Stan
