I've been looking for a small indoor heli for the winter.

I think the Micron looks really cool, but a bit spendy.

I thought about the MIA Bumble Bee, but I've read where people have had issues with the machine as well as parts and support.

I recently saw a HeliPro (http://www.helihobby.com/html/helip...micro_heli.html)
for a decent price, anybody flown or seen one of these first hand?

WINTER SUCKS!!!

I wouldn't mind at all to find a Mircon under my X-Mas tree this year. I could chase the cat from above. The price is abit much and you still have to buy the electrics!
I have a FP machine, stay away from a FP (fixed pitch). If you want a pretty good flying machine that doesn't cost much (about $220RTF) check out a "Blade". A buddy has one, I seen him fly it out doors with a brezze blowning about 5MPH. I was amazed how well it flew. It's has CP.

Welcome my son, Welcome to the machine

PhatPhenders56,

Actually the Micron is also fixed pitch.

The only CP sub-micro I have seen is the Dexterity 3DX.
http://www.bluearrow-rc.com/products/model/model.htm

Last night I ordered the HeliPro Sub_micro from RC-Expert. I have my fingers crossed that is not a piece of $h!T.

Today I saw the same heli for $10 less on GrandHobby.com, I should have been more patient (but that’s not my nature).

Wish me luck!

I’ll post back here once I get it and check it out.

Dexterity 3DX!!!
This looks really cool, but the web site is geared toward distributors. Is anyone selling it in the US? Has anyone seen it in flight?

you can purchase on the website.....

there's pics of it flying in rc groups thread.... one of the threads anyways......

its a neat little heli.... so darn tiny.

supposedly it will support FFF with the new blades (higher lift angles i think).

I received the Helipro Sub-Micro heli. I had it together and in the air during my lunch break yesterday. I had to adjust the elevator servo but other than that it did fly out of the box.

It is a handful to control, as others have said. I was adjusting the trims while flying in my back yard and started to get the feel of it. The tail definitely drifts around and when you change throttle (up or down) it will start to spin one way or the other.

I gave a good burst of throttle; it spun around and hit the house. OOOOps! The head piece (where the blades attach) broke. I found a replacement part at Omni Models (a web site I had not seen before).

I’m hoping I can get it dialed in to the point for some good indoor (house/garage) flying. I wonder if you can get a 3 in 1 board with a HH gyro unit. Or maybe I would have to go separate electronics in order to get the good gyro. Or maybe the tail will never be solid like my Shogun with a Futaba GY240 gyro.

I’ll let you know what happens next.

I have the little heli flying. After working through some problems that included:

-flight times were OK, then got down to just a couple of minutes.
-switched to 3 cell li-po 1300MAh 72 gram battery
-burned up tail motor
-worked through tail PROBLEMS and ended up with a GWS Dragonfly direct drive tail setup.
-put in a 380 main motor, plenty of power with the 3 cell but gets very HOT.

With the changes mentioned above it flies about like it did stock except it has more power and longer flight times. It’s not very stable at all; it’s pretty tough to hover around in the living room.

It does seem to take a beating and keep flying. Although, I did strip one of the cheap knock off servos (TowerPro SG-50) and replaced it with an HS-50.

I don’t know what I can do to make it more stable. It seems the tail motor can never really keep synchronized with the main motor.

I wish there was a miniature Shogun or T-Rex available!

I’ll post again with any new developments.
