I learned the basics of RC helis with a Hawk Sport . That is , how rc helis work (sort of ), how to set up (maybe not ) , how to hover , ect............ Now I have a Raptor 30 that I have dialed in pretty good . Nice stable hover , Very slight rudder input need at times but no big deal . I kind like having to do that because it keeps me aware of having to use the rudder to correct flight path . I can control and move the heli around pretty good , I can hover , move side to side , move up and down ect .

My problem is now that I try to transition to forward flight the heli wants to nose left. I am using a Futaba 401 gyro . Is there something I need to adjust to get the heli to fly straight in forward flight ? Or is this normal and I just need to hone my rudder skills some more ?

Do you have the rudder trimmed mechanically so that when hh is off the tail holds relatively straight without any input on the rudder? Sounds like your mechanical trim is off. With the gyro in hh there should not have to be any rudder input when transitioning to ff.

Make sure you don't have any trim or sub trim in the rudder channel, do the mechanical adjustment outlined by Dr Ben in the team tip and it should hold just fine.
