Hello all,
I have just upgraded my Cspec with the clined big bore 60k and a Viperhead (all OMI). This is the 1st time I have had to deal with a 3 needle carb and am looking for advice on how to tune it and the sort of proceedures required.
cheers.

My needle setting, after break in, is (CP30%):

high needle 1.5
midrange needle 1.5

It's a little rich, but power is great!

Did the same update! Ran one tank so far.
Main 1.5
Mid 1.0
Idle @ 11 o'clock
This is a VERY rich setting, Fuel tank ran empty in less than 6 minutes. My plans are to repeat this a few times then start the leaning procedure.

6 minutes !!!!!!
Did you go with the Viper head as well ?
When I spoke to James, he reckoned this setup should give longer flight times.

Al,
1.5 may be rich but 6 minutes still isn't right.
Make sure that you are not leaking raw fuel out of the bottom nipple of the tank.
Now that the tank is pressurized you need to take extra care in sealing the fuel line connections.

Yes viper head as well, Raw fuel was evident but could not locate the source! It did appear to have been coming from the carb but really couldn't pin point it. I checked the O ring on the carb neck and the seat looked good. checked all lines under pressure all good. It almost looked like the leak was in the area of the bolt and nut that holds the carb in place. I made sure that was tight after checking for the O ring. I'm planning on this Sunday for my second tank. I'll post my findings. Also this motor is brand new with no run time.
Thanks for the input!

Never needed to do the pinch test on the Cline carb. The thing just runs right.

Guy,

Here's the sequence for the 60B:

I know it's a different model but the three needle setup sequence is there. I hope this helps...
