rcheliace has posted a few extra G3 ones on his homepage..I like the fury/extreme apart from these they are a bit thin on the ground..If anyones already got one would like a Robbe Millie in yellow with carbon fins please...

I am quite happy with Rob's fury (the os70 version..I think it just uses the Dominion setup) seems good for me...but more colour options would be nice..i.e bright & easily seen...yellow or with a fade... yellow top into red or blue underneath

11290,

You can go into the airport editor and change the helis spawn position. That is just the position I take off from, nose in at a slight angle about 10 feet out. I had thought about making the take off position tail in and a bit further out for the download fields. One way or another, not everyone takes off from the same position but if everyone would like the sim to start that way I can make them tail in from now on.

Doesn't really bother me all that much but am new to G3 and didn't know how to move it out a little further. Might not be real good for someone that is not very proficient at nose-in work yet. They might crash just trying to get it to a more manageable position.

Thanks.

Barney,,

The thumb pic is just a preview pic. you only need to worry about importing the main panaramic image that is 8160X3060 As for the collision data it goes in the main airport folder not the one in the airport folder. After importing the image close G3 and cut and paste the ObjectsG3file into the MAIN airport folder. you will be asked if you want to overwrite the existing file select yes. Then open G3 and it should work for you. let me know. Also, if you would like to see other colorschemes let me know what ideas you have for them and I'll get the made up for you. Be sure to let me know what heli you would like to see them on.

11290,

Point well taken. I will make the changes to tail in and out a bit further and keep the nose in to my personal airports.

Thanks for all your work and posting these, they are great. May i suggest that on your sight that under each field and model you add a date as to when it was last updated.

I find myself redownloading just to find out if that posting has been updated. I'm sure that does not help your bandwidth usage.

Someday, I might put a cute statement here.

Once I create a model or field I realy don't go back and make changes to them. That way the downloads are more consistant, meaning , that everyone pretty much has the same one. Unless they choose to edit them further to suit there own needs. If there is a problem or someone brings something to my attention that needs a change, be it an upgrade or to fix a problem, I make a post to advise of the update.

I will be changing the heli spawn position in the photo fields, as requested, to a tail in position a little futher out. That way they are more "newbie" friendly I will post when the changes are made. All that will be required will be to replace the ObjectsG3file. You WILL NOT need to re-import the image. All should be done a little later tonight. I might have a few more fields ready also

Rob..still struggling to get the collision data to work..re-dropped the file into the folder as instructed. I also tried a bit of trial & error with quite a few other ones but still only get flat field collision data to work..

I did notice e.g. in Dotlingen If I open the airport editor it shows objects in red & a straight line which I presume is meant to be the pits fence etc but no luck

Helicopter yes please..What I would like would be a Robbe millenium in yellow with yellow U/C legs black skids MP2 , carbon fins. I'll send you a picture as a picture says a thousand words..dump the tuned pipe shown in the picture & use a muffler though if you do one

I am happy with the physics of the 3D dominnion etc as per the fury you already did..but find it hard to see sometimes

thanks for your time & help

regards brian

NP, send me a pic and I'll get a colorscheme made up for you. i can't change the color of the skids or the type of pipe right now. Just the colors of the canopy itself. i can't wait for the modeler to be released. The I can realy get into some nice complete heil builds. As for the field. Delete every file and re-down load and install. There are files in the folder labled photo fields in the airport folder too. In the airport folder you are looking for 2 files a ObjectsG3file and a airportG3file. Delete them both. Next in the photofields folder in the airports folder you are looking for a folder with the fields name and a PhotoFieldfile. delete them both. Now import the panaramic image again, when it opens exit G3. Take the ObjectsG3file and cut and paste it into the MAIN airport folder NOT the photofield folder in the airports folder. You will be asked if you want to overwrite the existing file, select YES. Now you should have a working field.

Question about the Millenium.

When I got the file the unzipped version only contained 2 files not 3.

Millenium.plng3 (sent it to the planes folder) and
Dominion3D~millenium.colorscheme (sent it to the colorscheme folder)

Ran the thing and had a millenium but not the yellow color. Definitely a rocket ship though. Also tried one of the gas x-cells and only had one file not three. Do not have addon #3. Do I need this for these heli's?? Not marked as necessary on site.

Using filzip for a utility. Something wrong with this utility?? has worked on the photofields OK.

Rob..Dowloaded the Millie file..it's certainly a wild ride!..

I'm having trouble with the colourscheme too... I dont think G3 recognises the file extension used for the Millie colourscheme.. the Fury used a .DDS file?..which I find works no problem.

As an experiment I changed the file name to a .dds & got a completely white canopy & fins ..Lol..would this indicate G3 isint recognising the file format.. .?

cheers

OK, the colorscheme issue is fixed. That was my bad. When I make a colorscheme for any new aircraft,(the millenium in this case) I make a template to be able to have a fresh starting point for all new colorschemes for that heli. Well when I got into the work on the Milleniums colorscheme I changed the colors on the template and not the Millenium. So I had to swap the names on the colorschemes. All is good now. The changes have been made to the files on my site. I will also add the Millenium colorscheme only as a download.

sookainian,

The rb file and plnG3 file both go in the planes folder. The Heli file you are refuring to, is that one off the first page or the G3 page? The Heli files are from G2 and the plnG3 files are the formate used in G3.
