I now have a photo field page on my site with 12 photo fields done so far. More to come soon, about 10-15 more in the works right now.

Are the photo fields in the "fields" page on the site or is there another page just for the photo fields. Just saw the one page.

Sorry, just found it in the G3 page. I'm not clicking on all cylinders the last couple of days.

Very nice! I downloaded one and it works great, Just no motor sounds though from my Electric Trex heli though. Is It pretty hard to make one of these? I have a panaramic capable camera. Just bought it.

When you go to the G3 download page with the helis on it there is a link for photo fields there. The add-ons 4disc is required for the Hummingbird elite pro. Not sure why the lable is not on the picture, I'll look into that. As for the t-rex files, the plnG3 file and rb file go in the planes folder, the battery file goes in the engine folder, and the colorscheme file goes in the colorscheme folder. There are no engine sounds on the t-rex just blade sound. I'm not sure exactly whatprogram is used to make the panaramic image. I do know it is a lot of photos taken at a full 360 degs and they are stitched together to make one image. I haven't tried it yet but I'm looking into what camera and software are best for it. I have a few fields I would like to make up. These panaramic images are reflex images with new collision data made for G3. You can import any raw panaramic image into G3. Then you have to make the collision date for it though, as G3s collision date differs from reflex and other sims that use the panaramic images.

Thanks for the fields! Although, I think I have a problem with my card or something. I can see some of the shading where the collision data is... Can anyone else see this? Also on the sport hall field there is a dark ring around the middle of the gymnasium floor that moves like a light is flickering...

Just wondering if it's just my setup.

Thanks!
J

Is the shading red? That is the color of the collision data objects when visable. I haven't seen any shading or rings in the middle of the sport hall. What card are you running?

I have an XFX 6600GT. No, it's not red. But in the Aero Club field I can see what looks like a little fence in the tall grass on right on the right.

Barney,

There is a file named ObjectsG3file in the zipped folder with the pamaramic image. That file has to be cut and pasted into the airports folder. You will be prompted to answer yes or no to overwrite the existing file. Select yes. Next time you open G3 the collision data will be active.

JitsuGuy,

I'll take a look, it just might be in the image.

clearsky,

I just got another Hummingbird elite pro CP, but will be getting a new gasser for christmas. The boat is fun but I need to get back in the air.

I have another snow field comming too. How do you like how the skids sink into the snow and tall grass? Thought that was a cool touch.

J,

If you are refuring to the fence off in the distance to the right, while looking at the heli in the starting position, that is a fence but it's way off in the distance. I didn't make up any collision data for it as it is so far away.

Some of the fields such as Suesel have alot of detailed collsion data in them. all the ropes that are holding the protective fencing up are mapped as well as all the seperate people and aircraft outside the fence. Also the Haras Mexico field has alot of mapping in it too. all the poles, people, chairs, tables, and aircraft are mapped. So you can fly through if you are careful enough not to clip one. Even the people and rock pile off in the distance are mapped as well. Oh, and watch out for the flag pole on the roof

Rob:

Love the fields and thanks for your work. Now the question.

I downloaded two of the fields and when I start up with these fields the heli is nosein and "right at my feet". I go ahead and fly it to another position and hit "P" on the keyboard to reposition it. During the time I am active on Realflight it will go back to the correct position. If I exit out and restart later it is back to nosein and at my feet. It only does that on the two fields I downloaded.

Is there another way to reset and keep the heli position with your fields or is that just one of the quirks of the downloaded fields vs the ones that are native to Realflight.

Thanks again.

The skids in the snow is cool - especially with how the 410 version kinda of sticks until you get to a specific headspeed.

As far as the Mexico scene, I was cracking up at the apparent illegals making the mad dash. The styrene cup on the ground is a nice touch.
I am going to take a set of High res photos at my field and try to stitch them up.

Sounds cool. If you need a hand getting the collision date mapped let me know, I'll be glad to help.

There is another new field up "SQF parking lot" good for practicing hovering, or a tight spot to fly for an experienced pilot to get in some practice.
