I am looking to upgrade my battery. I have an eflight multiplex charger for lipos. I was wondering if I can use a 2000 mah lipo, 5.1v regulator with my 401 gy w/ fut digital servo and if this qould be a good overall setup. If so which battery and which reg. If not what battery should I use. I have a r30 w/ os37, 2 digital servos, and csm revlock. I am running a 1500 nmhi battery now. I only get two or three flights. I would like to get around 5. I have read that li-ion are great for a rec. but I did not want to sink a ton of money into a whole new set up. thanks for the help.

Duralites are awesome, i use a 4000 mah pack with a 5.1 switch safe regulator. No field charging here, 7 or 8 flights over a weekend, no problem. Both the 401 and the servo are fine up to 6v regulated.

whatever you do don't buy none of those cheap crap cermark $15 ones or any other cheap series regulator designed to reduce 5 cell packs to 5.0 volts. You need a good series regulator designed to handle a fully charged 2 cell lipo (8.4V). I got a fromeco myself.

You can get a charger from Duralite any where from 1 rx out put to 4 rx or 1 tx and 3 rx. You plug it in the green light goes on, when it goes out its charged and the charger cuts off. Very simple and fairly affordble.

Radio South also has excellent switched regulators http://www.radiosouthrc.com and I use these as well.
