Another source is the HiTec Flight Preserver or the KSJ receiver mounting package.

The name for neoprene (that black foam rubber) with the nylon backing is "neoprene one" if the backing is on one side and "neoprene two" if it's double backed.

Quick UK also makes a nice receiver box.

I converted over to all QUK strong boxes... Good inexpensive protection..Word to the wise the larger receivers like the 309 wont fit.. but all others are good. Its a good insurance policy for your receiver.

I think I'm going to cut up my wet suit, Its 7mm thick and to small I cant ware it any more. I would rather fly then dive. This would give me plenty of protection for my electronics

I use the "NASA" foam. Get a memory-foam pillow for a lifetime supply. I cut a top, bottom, and center on the bandsaw - glue them together, and slide the RX in the back. Then I wrap the whole thing with cloth gaffing-type tape.

The material you are talking about is neoprene..It's usually used to make wetsuits & the like... comes in different thickness's..3mm 4mm 5mm 6mm..also you have the option of whether it has the nylon surface on one side only ..both etc...

As pointed out above some mousemats are made from it..I believe NHP make a dedicated Rx one with a velcro strap

I ordered the Quick strong box and realized that it will not fit both gyro amp and receiver! Too bad cause I ordered 6 boxes. Maybe another box for the amp then?

What if we do away with the switch and use a Dean's type connector? I have been thinking about doing this for some time.
