I am finishing up the build of a gasser Pred. SE and have a problem with the vertical fin. It is supposed to come with four 6mm spacers, mine has two 6mm and two 7.5mm. Is that an update, it doesn't fit either way.

Also the included 710 main blades look as if they need a brass spacer to bring the ID down to 4mm. Is that included in the kit? I can press a spacer out of an old blade set if needed.

Third, the TR gearbox has roughness after assembling to directions and greasing. I assume that will work it's way out. What is the reason that they have a thread and setscrew in the end of one side of each shaft in the TR gearbox? The manual and my understanding of things do not reveal a reason for that feature.

Thanks,
Eric

About the spacers, they have to be there to get the fin to clear the tail rotor bell crank.

The Predator uses 5mm blade grip bolts, so no bushings needed.

The tail rotor will run in but it will take a long time. Find some shim material .001" thick and put a 1/4" X 3/8" piece between the gears and the shafts on the oposite side of the set screw.

The shafts are used in the smaller helis also and they use a pin and a set screw to secure the plastic gears to the shafts.

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

Predator fin mount
The longer 2 spacers go on the rear two holes of the fin and the front two get the short spacers to the seperate vertical fin mount.

Thanks for the reply. As to the main problem, the standoffs being different lengths, I have enclosed the picture below that shows the fin mounted with the 6mm standoffs, and the other two included in the kit are 7.5 mm and will not fit square. Shall I grind them to 6mm, they are just standoffs?
Thanks,
Eric

Seems like you replied while I was typing there Bobwho52 . I shall try that, so you know what I mean about the spacer lengths?

Fin placement
I know that originally the carbon fin went on the other side (the tailrotor side) I think the spacers only work on the plastic fin to move it to the other side (left). Could someone clarify? The online manual has the fin placement on the right side (looking forward).

Nevermind
Nevermind, I just notice I have the older style tailcase that doesn't have the mounting peg extended out. I guess I'll have to make a spacer for it.
