I've had that problem in the past. What gets me started sometimes is to go over my documentation that I'm wanting to model after and mark out some plans on the body itself. The other thing I do is to start cutting out the window, vent, and door openings. Once that is done I'm good to go and on my way.

There's nothing wrong with you. Don't fret about it. When you are ready, you will know it. Usually, when this kind of thing has happened to me, it has been because I have other responsibilities that are taking me away from the hobby. Then, when I finally find time for the hobby, I don't "feel" like doing it. I don't have any answers, just know you are not alone.
Good Luck.

nope your not alone, I have two scalers going right now and they have spent more time sitting than getting worked on, I've been sitting.....errr working on my vertol now for almost a year and havent even started the fuse yet.....got the frame, engine and exhaust done....an hour here or there.....but I have the same affliction....right now its more fun to fly than build....weather is so darn nice, I may just not fly in the summer (humid heat ugg) and build....

Ask your Doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Yep same here. Have a half finished jet ranger sitting on a shelf. I got hot and did all the pics of the subject, made some custom gear, got everything ordered and its sputtering along.

RP is right, flying weather is too nice right now, maybe in December when it drops to the 70's I'll get some building in.

X-Cell gasser
be careful the X-Cells cluch is not big enough to handle more than 4 or 5 lbs and certainly not big heavy blades you will get a violant shake and you will watch your heli go to pieces.. At 1050 rpm's the head exploded sending two 800mm blades between my little girl and I.

No Fire!!!!
Very common problem, that is for sure......
But once you have flown a scaler and see what it looks and feels like in the air........ the fire/urge doesn't go out.... it might just get a little low at times...
As it has been mentioned, when it is too cold (70 degree's!!!!$%#$^(*&) to go out and "play", take a good look at the unit and it will get to you...
My Hughes has been on the table now for over a month, needing a new engine, and I look at it everytime I go into the shop, along with all of the parts that are needed, sitting there, but just have not gotten back to it.... BUT I WILL......
Keep the faith and you will get into it when the time is right for you....
Good Luck with it...... Stan
